I am using the glow drivers that are an addition to the TwinSync system, however;

On some of my other planes I have used the Sonic-Tronics units. The one you need for the B-25 is the MCD472TE (twin engine glow driver)http://sonictronics.com/xcart/home.php?cat=309 with He can make you a custom unit with the length of wires you need for the B-25 ). I believe it is 40 inches. Some others have decided that a single unit at each pod is the way to go using the MCD466 single glow driver. One advantage of these units is that they will pulse thus saving battery power. They also easily allow you to set the throttle positon to come on.

I appreciate that he will rebuild stuff for you at a good price. Like my glow drivers or a really old onboard glow (15 years old).

Ended up working at the Pax river air Show this weekend....The beautiful silverB-25J Panchito was one of the featured performers as well as being on the ground to admire. It was certainly great to seea B-25J being flown for display. Gave me some ideas of the best way to accurately present the TF B-25 at fly insand model demos.....

I have a small leak in mine that I can't find. It will hold air for 3hr but slowly bleads off. Not that concernd plenty of air for flight and I havent had it collapse andfall sitting in the pits all weekend. I do use the stand for transport and setup. I have 2, one for the shop and one for the field. Makes moving this big bird easy.

YUP, I have the same problem; bleeds down from 100 - 60psi in 'bout 4~ hours. Checked all connections, especially the quick connects at wing root;then "safety" wired all connections and silicon lubed the quick connects. Still have the same pressure drop with time. I now suspect the control valve. But sinceI can get four to five up/down cycles before pressure drops to 60 psi I have decided just to accept the slow pressure bleed down as normal?!*?

I was reading the recent posts about air leaks with Robart gear. I haven't experienced any problems my self and I've used Robart gear on MANY TopFlite war birds I've built at work and at home. In fact, I don't even use those knurled, aluminum retainers over the lines on the fittings. Anymore, I don't even bother doing a pressure test over an extended period. In the past I have done an overnight pressure test by pressurizing the system and letting it sit overnight, then seeing if the gear would cycle the next day, but again, I usually don't bother with this any more. I figure the system needs to hold air only for a half-hour or so. However, if the system does loose pressure your gear won't collapse because it's over-cammed and locked. However (again), if you run your engines with the plane sitting on the gear, and the system is not pressurised, the gear will probably collapse due to vibration. I guess I wouldn't worry about an air leak that occurs over a period of hours, but that's just my opinion.

Hi Gents,

Panchito was a fantastic bird to view upclose and personal. I was at Pax Rivers airshow sunday and was able to talk to the aircrew to include an 87 year old flight engineer who flew B-25's in the Pacific. I tooknumerous pics of Panchitoand will post them in a few days, both on deck and airborn, what a fantastic bird. An interesting item I noticed on Panchito, she had six fixed forward firing 50 cals and one more for the bombadier.

Hi, I have not had any problems with my robart gear leaking. Just a suggestion for you and the others; try replacing the O-rings inthe gearactuating cylindersand control valve, alsouselite machine oil to lubricate the O-ringbefore installation. Overtime the O-rings will dryout or ware out causing flat spots in the O-ring which cause leaks. I don't know if Robarts sells a repack kit to replacewornout O-rings? Anotherpart in the system that needs to be checked is the filler valve, some timesthe internal valve may not seat properly and again causing the system to leak. Hope this information is useful.

Does anyone know if the cockpit glass directly over the pilot and copilots was tinted green during WWII or was this feature added after the war when the aircraft were restored?

To me the green windshield looks like a reflection of the green anti-glare paint on fuselage. In some of the other far away pictures the windshield look clear, but hard to tell.

Hi, Last night and this morning I did some research via the internet and found that all B-25s hadclear glass above the pilot and copilots seats. As the aircraft reached combat squadrons in the South Pacific minor modifications were made, i.e. the green tinted glass. As for the windshield both sides were clear, but, the top FWD section on some aircraft changed, in my opinion post productoin or during restoration, it'shard to dertermine. Someof the actual combat photo's taken have shown both clear and tinted glass abovethe pilot and copilots seats. I'm glad you liked the photo's of "Panchito," the owner and crew routinely make trips to Pax River to include another B-25 for orientation flights here at the Naval test Pilots school.

Very nice pictures, RCGuy41. I was at the event as well (working in the BAE Systemschalet) and REALLY enjoyed seeing Panchito fly.

One of the flight crew came by the chalet (think it was the copilot)and we had a long chat. Turns out he is an avid R/C guy as well...small world.

Anyone one else following the thread make it to Pax River for the airshow?

HI folks,

So my plane is together and my radio just came in. I bought a Futaba 14 Fasst system. I played with it for a few hours. The instructions are just too vague. I cannot completely figure out how to set up double throttles that uncouple or throttle holds, idles or cuts.Ithink i figured out theflap to elevator mix. It was also strange that it has no standard set up for "Y" harnessed ailerons and flaps?

Anyone know ofa site that explaines a little better?
