Well Apollo 13 cleared the tower at 9:30 last night after the dinner, we pulled in this morning around 6:00 AM...
All I can say is Thank You Lewis for hosting such a fine event, I don't know how it could possibly be topped!!!
I have been attending for the past three years and when you think it couldn't be topped, Lewis pulls out even more surprises, I am already counting down the days to next years event. Lewis please make sure you keep our camping and tent spot!
I had a great time seeing all of my buddy's and meeting new ones.
Keith...what can I say, your Friday night BBQ was spectacular...keep up the great work. I hope you will do it again next year....
Finally a special thank you to Eric Clapp and Jet Central for being a major sponsor, because without that kind of commitment this event wouldn't be what it is.

Well...Jets over Kentucky is in the bag! I'm sitting here at the field, the last one to head out (tomorrow AM) and am reflecting on truly the grandest R/C jet event anywhere. 160 pilots (more or less), tons of flying, great food and meeting and making great friends. The flying went on until almost 9:00 in the evening so there was just about 14 hours a day available to fly your jet.
I logged 21 flights with my JetCat V3 Turbo Prop powered Tucano, 14 flights with my Evo Jet 180VX powered Lightning and a dozen flights with my EDF L-39.
I'm dead...done...spent. Even with me bugging out for two days for Marley's Birthday I flew myself to death. The great thing for me was that I did not have one single engine problem (besides running out of fuel one time...oops!) with both of my planes that had brand new motors in them. The Tucano had one flight on it with the new Turbo Prop and the Lightning had no flights on it's new Evo Jet motor. Not one single problem with either one...it was awesome.
What was even greater was meeting so many new friends that I have only seen here on RCU and the internet. Dan, Chris, Big D, Shaun, Lowel, Tam, Bob...meeting all of you guys finally was really great. Putting a face with a name is what it's all about. The evenings were awesome too. Cookouts that lasted till one in the AM...the laughs, the jokes, the bonding...everything...it was just over the top.
We really have only one person to thank for it all...and it is Lewis Patton. He spends all year getting the event together...pretty much all by himself, asks for nothing in return other than to smile and enjoy yourself and to come back next year.
The usual suspects were there too and it was great to see them again. Jack, Rich, Andy, Chuck, Pierre, Mike, Ron, Jim H, Jim B, The Robart gang, Marvin, Pablo, Patty, Ray, RJ, Jed, Sluggo, Trent, Kim, Bob, Louie, Marty, Smitty, Dan, David, Keith, Andy and Andy, Bill and the rest of you that I have not mentioned...thanks for making Lewis's show what it is...simply the best!
It was a great time and one event that you have to make...that's just the way it is!

Had a great time at the "Jet Event of the Year"! Many thanks to my Tennesse "home boys" for helping me out and to the Kentucky crowd we pitted next to. A really great bunch of guys. Scott, I'm glad you got the Saber up and going. Looks really good in the air and the new Cheetah really has it going. Randy, thanks again for your help and only complaint I have is not enough Shok Jet time. Glenn and Wayne, thanks for the sandwiches. Next time bring smoked ham.
Looking forward to next year,
Bobby

Many Thanks to Lewis and the crew for a great Event. Special thanks to Keith Yates for the Friday dinner, Boys, The man can cook. Thanks also to Eric for his sponsorship. I was expecting the Fun Police to show up at any time as everyone was obviously having TOO MUCH FUN... Tried to make reservations at the motel for next year but they would not take them a year in advance. I'll call next week . This time I want a room with a bed LOL. See you guys next year, and Keith you better be cooking.

HI all, back home now after a 14 hour drive.
What a week it has been, all the great guys at one event, flying, flying and more flying.
A Big thanks to Lewis Patton for his well run event, his non stop program of entertainment.
Also it was great meeting all the guys , across America.
And finally, it was great hooking up with Chuck and King Ali, the greatest pilot in the World, with over 100 flights this week, you sure made a lot of happy flyers.
Ali , it was a real pleasure to have you Fly my 3 Jets.
Next year, Kentucky Jets, don"t miss it.

It's Monday morning and I still haven't recovered from the weekend, It was one of the best events I've ever been to. Had a good time hanging out with great friends, meeting new ones, and a chance to get in several flights. Thanks to Jerry Bowling for letting me fly his Bobcat for the first time during the sportsman challenge second place wasn't too shabby for a unfamiliar plane and a KY Boy, haha... This cat's ready for KY Jets 2012!

Well,
Sounds like a common theme here, huh? What we can figure so far:
1. Lewis knows how to put on a world-class meet.
2. Kentucky Jets is a no-muss/no-fuss event.
3. It's fun to meet and fly with guys you've 'known' for years but have never seen.
4. People are already planning for next year.
I guess that's a home-run, Lewis.

I personally want to thank Louis Patton and all of his crew for providing all the hard work and preparations so we can have a beautiful place to fly our model jet airplanes. I have run many events in the past and I know how much work and effort that goes into an event of this size. It is a thankless job but we don't do it for the thanks we do it because we love this hobby, flying our model airplanes and especially we do it for all of our modeling friends we have met over the years. All modeling events are as much a social occasion as they are a flying event. We all love this hobby and appreciate the efforts so we can get together and fly, talk, learn and visit with our old friends and make some new ones. I also want to thank the Springfield-Lebanon airport authority and the town of Lebanon for hosting this event.

Hi,
You got that right. What a beautiful facility for a meet! Don't get me wrong, the Willow is nice too for having endless runway to use for a flameout, but when you add the rolling green hills and the majestic sky (and the fact that God was courteous enough to add 90 minutes to the natural get-dark time just for us), this site was hard to beat.
