Hey Tim, I think Hobbico missed out on the opportunity to sell some Rimfire motors by not providing a recomendation for them.
I think alot of people like myself would prefer electric power for this plane. I know the Surpasses make a nice sound, but I can't think of one other advantage they would have.

Mike, nice job with the motors and mounting of them. Did you purchase pre-made aluminum mounts for your E-Flite motors or machine the mounts yourself ? They look like they fit perfectly in terms of all dimensions (length for cowl clearance and also the fit on the firewall).

Esprit model sells these mounts (espritmodel.com). They are made for the AXI, but the E-Flite has the same mounting dimensions. I only had to cut down the width of the plate against the firewall to fit between the protruding plywood. The standoffs are exactly 2", making the total lenght 5" per the manual.

the gap you see between sections is the hatch for the lipos. that way my bomb bay will be 100% scale. wen i ordered my axis the person i spoke to said eflite copied there design. i called e flite and asked if an axi prop mount would fit. I was told those holes are there for holding the motor during construction what liers!!!!!!! the axi hub mounts perfect on the eflite.

About the wood levers
You are right about the levers. I'll try to make my own from a 1/8 aluminium plate from the local hardware store. I heard it "scroutching" when it moves the doors..Better to make those little improvements now, it wont last anyway, the litttle piece is busy with the load it has. To anyonre who intend making the same please do not gorget to wear gogles and gloves because After cutting and shaping with a dremel it will throw metalic splines all over you and they penetrate!!! (I know). Mike, if you have any other suggestions, please let me know. Thanx

It would be great if I could get a drawing or data file on that part. If I had the designed dimensions like the radii and all there center points I could easily set up a CNC machine here and make a bunch of them. Without the specs I would need to measure the wood part on my coordinate measuring machine and make up my own drawing.

no rivits and everything man! i see one of the stringers is off so its been fixed. Pics really let you see what is going on. Is anyone going to mass produce those levers in aluminum i would have no skill to do it.

Hey, Dick. I'm doing mine out of the box with the exception of the Robarts. I'm thinking alot of the great flying characteristics come from the light weight and wing loading. That means keeping the add ons and extra detailing/servos wiring to a minimum. Going with the recommended os 70 four strokes on mine. Never had a flame out on one yet. The recommendation of keeping them a bit on the rich side is key... matching them up not by leaning one out, but richening one engine to match as close as possible the other one. I'm figuring this isn't a full blown scaled out plane anyway. It will make a wonderful first twin "trainer" for someone plus it wil have the great looks and wow of a warbird.

About Bomb bay, I v saw on rc-warbird some pictures of a bomb bay door opening system and hinging system which seems interesting. A 260 oz retract servo would certainly actuate a system like that. Seems like a good idea for the mechanism of the bomb bay doors.

I need your help and I'll need it real bad.
Tower Hobbies postponed availability of the kit for late November and the local distributor in Brazil won't have it before late December.
I need somebody to check his/her local hobby shop if they have the B25 in stock and if they would ship it to Brazil ASAP. If so, just give their phone number and I'll take it from here...![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

I'm coming up with a real weird idea, but I think it might work...
I'm going electric, right? So, theoretically, I could move the engine one in each direction, right?
What if I use Vario Props, using + pitch in one and - pitch on the other, revving one in each direction?
Maybe it's very stupid what I'm saying... If so, please, be nice...
But if it's not, I'll try to use the Vario Prop (which looks real scale) in a size proportional to the full scale prop and test the best pitch for the engine, on stand. Then, use opposite pitch on the other engine, revving it reverse, just like the real deal.
Let me know what you think?

I was going to counter rotate the motors also. I even bought the props for it. Then it dawned on me that the thrust angles are designed for both motors to be running counter clockwise. I may be wrong, but counter rotating props might not work so well. The rudders are right behind the props anyway, so it probably handles fine on the ground.

I'm pretty sure it will handle great with both props revving the same direction but I tought about counter rotating them for the sake of the scale...

Ordered the ROBART GEAR ALREADY... of course it is backordered....
I will add the bombbay... and some release mechanisms...

The glow engines have the full amount of power down to the last drop of fuel as the electrics lose power as the batteries drain. Also the glow engines will have better performence because the plane becomes lighter as the fuel burns. I am going with the new YS 63-S engines using the Graupner 12x7 three blade props. I have a lot of faith in YS engines over the past years that I will not be using on board glow. I can't remember the last time I had a YS engine quit. Their performance is unmatched in my opinion if the engine is set up correctly and broken in correctly. I am using Tru-Turn prop hubs. If you need them for this engine, call Bob at Tru-Turn and he will make a set for you.
