SrT150,
That was a great explanation. I could very quickly become a fan of CDI and glow fuel...sounds like you have become a true believer in it already.
Thanks for the link as well

I tried to run my FA91S on GI last year.
I session @ the field was enough for me!
Since I was able to get 3 1/2 HP out of my FA180HC CDI BBC engine, my next project is to get 7HP out of an FA4503D on 15% Cool Power glow fuel. I entend to get there by incorporating CDI & an 11mm "Big Bore" carburetor W/through the case induction. I will eventually increase compression either by machining some material off of the case deck or by stroking the crank a bit. If I do increase the CR I would expect about 8 HP.

Back in the day(69)my favourite scary bike was an H1A triple with drum brakes though i had the 750 as well.I'm not arguing with anyone else that was brave enough to ride them

My wife was put on notice that I want a Z1 some day to rebuild. She doesn't have a clue how serious I am. The 750 was very nice. I still have a poster of the 650 that claimed it would beat any 750 in the world, right out of the crate. I guess that excluded it's 750 brother.

Insane is a twin engined quad, turbo supercharged as run by Monster Takajima in the Race to the Stars at Queenstown NZ. He also rallied a twin engined Honda Civic in the same event. As for racing cars, these days WRC is probably as close as I would want to ge racing saloon type cars but the best buzz is Duration Old Timer, 30 secs of terror followed by gentlemanly gliding to achieve a set time. The climb is run at max power and if you haven't rigged te a/c right the you need full down elevator to conrol the climb to a max of 87.5 degrees. If you are not careful it will do a figure 9 and bite you. The discipline requires powered flight expertise combined with bein a glider guider with all the requirements of both facits of flight, go and look at the SAM comps and try it if you are game.

I’m looking for a manual and parts list for a FA-90TMK2. I might have to replace the bearings so I would like to see if I can find a gasket set.
RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
These are the part numbers I found, let me know if you agree?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
My last word about this castor thing and it is only an observation based on 2 engines bought N.I.B back in 1995 when I came back from Malaysia. They are OS 20 fourstrokes. One run by an old flying friend who absolutely swears by astor "in old engines" and the other I operated myself (Synthetic oil cause I am a tight arse and didn't want to complicate things back then), the engine run by my old friend was put aay in 2001 in a plastic zip lock bag and mine was put away in 2003 in its box, mne was filled with ATF, the other one was basically left "as the castor will look after it" with a bit of oil circulated through it after a lean run.
Both engines were resureced the other day mine started with a bit of difficulty and a new plug the other wouldn't. We took the back plate off and after a monents contemplation decide the best place to start was to wash the rust out of the engine and proceed from there. The engine will run again bt I felt the need to acquire 3 more con rods as I have a coule of 26 fourstrokes that might need a rebuild ( I acquired them second hand)
As I have said what ever spins your wheels and you accept the consequences if any of those actions.

Sr Telemaster, good article / post. Question would that CDI system work / fit / improve the 56 and 65 engines ???

You could contact C&H after Memorial day about the .56.
As far as the airframes? A 40 sized Cub or similar would be able to house the module easily, but a 40 sized Mustang or other warbird would not.

Thanks for that, I am looking to get more "power" for my old timer a/c so if I go that route I will be putting it in something like a 105% Playboy, Lanzo Racer, or a Feathermerchant</p>

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Although I had asked it before, I think it got lost in the thread discussion.
My old (used) Saito 1.20 ABC is plain with gold rocker covers and an early air bleed carb (purported to be better but more expensive than the TN carbs fitted later. Have not found anything about this engine and have not run it yet. Anyone have any knowledge of it (like fuel and oil needs and rec. prop)?
Thanks.

When I was doing this test the other I noted a 300 rpm drop in performance after the Mejzlik 16x8 run, 8,500 was barely doable and very shaky. Today I discovered why. I had first ever with a Fox Miracle plug, the seal around the post either burned up or became dislodged.
