XOAR Props
Anybody ever use a XOAR prop? Just bought a 23X8 from DA for my 50R. It looks much like a Bolly or an MSC. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these.
Thanks,
Tony M.

RE: XOAR Props
I ordered a XOAR prop with my last order thru DA. The props are real nice, but I have yet to run the 22 X 8 that I purchased.

RE: XOAR Props
I can't comment on the smaller props, but the 27x10 and 28x10 work very well. They don't rip easily and are pretty quiet running. Efficiency is good and the performance is similar to a Mejzlik of the same sizes on the same aircraft. For the price it is a very good buy.

That's okay, but can you tell me where I can obtain a 16x8, as Tarus does not seem to carry anything smaller than 18.

RE: XOAR Props
Chief Aircraft also sells them. [link=http://www.chiefaircraft.com]Chief Aircraft[/link]. The smallest size I've seen there is a 17x6, which I'm running on my Saito 1.50 with great results.

RE: XOAR Props
I'm running a Xoar 23x8 on a G-62 with EI. Its performance is nothing short of remarkable. I've bought 3, and each of them was perfectly balanced when I got them home...I may never buy another prop.

The nice thing about the Xoar is that they seem to have a lot more lacquer on them than some of the other big wooden props I have seen - makes them look nice and glossy, plus when you do need to balance, you're really just removing clear, not having to get into the grain of the wood and risk changing the profile of the airfoil.

RE: XOAR Props
Coming from a Gas Engine company I have a lot of experience with many, many props out there. Xoar props are my most recommended prop out there. I find them to be the best performing prop that I have found for the money. In many conditions they turn as fast and pull as much as CF props. These props are a vast upgrade from budget props like TF, MA. and definitly more efficient and better made than Zingers. You can't loose with these props. Do not be fooled by thier relative low cost! These props outperform other props costing 2 to 3 times as much! Xoar props are actually made by NX which is one of the largest Chinese prop makers in the world. NX makes a lot of props for ultra lights and small manned aircraft so they know what thier doing!

RE: XOAR Props
I tried Chief Aircraft for a 20x8, and they said the order was maybe 8 weeks out. I emailed Abell RC, and got my reply right away. I've just ordered a 17x6, 20x8, and a 22x10, online, with no problems.

RE: XOAR Props
Did they email you a paypal bill?
I just picked what I wanted and then tried to use paypal to pay since I have a balance. It kept saying sesssion timed out and I know it wasnt an issue with me (computer guy for a living). It was a coding issue probably cookie poarsing on the site.
Also while we are talk Xoar... I saw 2 different types on the Abellrc site. Has anyone compared the normal one and the plywood one that is $5 more?

RE: XOAR Props
I used VISA, no hitches. I asked about the difference between the beech and the beech ply. They said that the ply prop is a bit stiffer. I went with the standard beech.
