Fei Bao Hawk build/ no longer
The time has come to start this thread, the jet came in the container that arrived about a month ago from China together with all the other Tam jets and a second Hawk that already found a home in South America ( it did not lasted 3 days at the shop ) I have been just to busy to get it going 'till now.
First thing is To QC the jet and take tons of pictures, first impression is, nice ARF jet, the glue joins are super clean and tidy as you will see in the pictures, every thing looks strait, well painted, hinged right, fit well from canopy to wings, to stabs, the details are good.
We are going to be using Hitec Servos all around like the prototype # 1 ( RIP [:@] ) A Jet Cat P-80 for an engine ( # 1 flew well with it ) combined with one of Tam's pipes, the scale struts will be arriving some time later, so no pictures of them for now ( sorry ) Tam's 3" wheels and brakes, the stiffer airlines, Tam's Fail safe device, 3 way mini-air valve for the brakes, a 6 volt Duralight regulator, Tam's smoke system. Some of the metric hardware that comes with the jet will be change to standard just because I like to use that instead, some small wood parts will not be used, we will not need them ( very few ) Tam's super HD 700 retracts ( good for 40# to 50# lbs airplane )
I estimate an overall weight of 27# lbs dry and about 30# lbs wet.
The pictures will be coming soon ( Saturday morning, tomorrow ) [X(]
John A. enjoy the build.

RE: Fei Bao Hawk build
Sorry for the delay, I got pictures.
They may not be the best, I bought this camera recently.
Here I'm showing all that comes in the box. The next pictures are going to be of all the individual part groups, then of the jet as it comes all together.
All the parts out of the box
Wood and hardware
cockpit interior
doors and air brake

Hey Carlos,
How are you!? Are all the Fei Bao jets painted the same way including the Rafale? Looks like they're painted outside the mold and clear coated.
Missed you today out at Woodland, lots of jets. Good luck on your Hawk build, hope to see it flying early next year. Let me know when you plan to fly it, I'd like to be there.
Ken

Hi Ken.
I'm Sorry I couldn't be there with you guys today, the family is here in San Fran. and I couldn't go back home 'till tomorrow in the morning.
You are right about the painting, out side the mold and clear coated and in some of the pictures you can see the rivets and the panel lines too.
I like to see it up in the air soon too, I will let you know as soon it is ready to TO.

Not sure if it is better than the old SM as I never build one ( worked on one once that's all ) but one thing on this jet is for sure, if you get one you will be happy with it, over all, this is one nice, awesome ARF.
Not sure exactly which servos I will be using but they will be most likely Hitec.
Tamjets will be getting some in the next few months, they are the authorize Fei bao distributors in the USA. I will suggest to call them to find out about prices and availability on this jet. The recommended turbine for this jet is the P-80 or P-120 ( or equivalent ) no more, I personally prefer the P-80, this engine flys this jet scale like, my way of flying.

I have been informed that someone has complained to the RCU administration regarding the Hawk build, the why I have been allow to advertise a Tamjets product on RCU? that I'm a Tamjets rep. and shouldn't be allow to do so and the list of complains goes on and on.......
First and most important I like to apologize to my friend Tam for putting him and his business in this situation.
Second, and be all very clear of this, With respects to my friend Tam, I am not a Tamjets rep. nor I asked to be one ( I don't have what it takes to be a rep. at the moment ) He has ask me to discontinue the thread, and I respect his wishes, the Hawk on the thread is 100% my property but it is also a product carry by his business and still under development.
True that I spend some of my free time at the shop, true that I help him during his jet meet events trips ( and will continue doing so in the future ) true that I help him build anything that he ask me too at the shop ( while learning how to at the same time ) then I ask, isn't that what true friends are for, to help when asked to and when not? That does not makes me a rep. it makes me a friend!
To all who are interested on the Hawk build, I apologize but I can no longer continue it, here it comes to show again that the jealousy of one person ruins it for all of us, my intentions were to share my experience building this jet with the jet community like my other builds ( Kangaroo, Viperjet ).
This is my last post.
Good day.

I was also looking forward to the build. If it continued as it started, the information would have been excellent.
Hopefully someone else will take over.

Id like to know who the Jacksauce was that complained? You dont have to tell us Carlos but if he wasnt a coward he would have aired his grievence in this forum. Its people like that who give this hobby a selfish and bad name. Thank goodness I didnt post my A-4 build on here, I love Tam and consider him a great asset to this hobby along with his whole team. If it werent for them helping me so much I wouldnt be flying jets. But it didnt stop me from posting my build in a more sharing environment on anther RC site. Its people like this guy that have me spending more time over there than here on this site. Shame!![:@][:@][:@]
