Default CHIP HYDE COMPETITION SERIES 300S

I AM CURRENTLY BUILDING ONE FOR JEFF HIETMAN TO FLY IN THE XFC . IT IS A PROTOTYPE AND I AM NOT SURE YET WHEN THEY ARE HITTING THE MARKET. THE KIT IS OUTSTANDING. THE QUALITY AND ALL OF THE HARDWARE YOU GET WITH IT IS ALL TOP NOTCH STUFF . I AM PUTTING CHIPS PIPES IN IT ALSO AND THEY ARE REALLY SWEET AND FIT REALLY GOOD YOU DONT HAVE TO CUT THE COWL AT ALL TO FIT THEM IN. WHEN THESE AIRPLANES ARE READY FOR THE PUBLIC YOU SHOULD GET ONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I WILL PUT SOME PICS UP WHEN I FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IT (HELP) .

Here is a picture of the radio install as you can see there is plenty of room for everything and it is a clean install. feel free to ask questions about this plane that is what this forum is for.

YES THOSE ARE THE NEW FUTABA 9152 SERVOS. AND YES I THINK YOU CAN GET SMOKE IN THERE BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO USE A SMALLER TANK MAYBE 16 TO 20 OR POSSIBLY A 24 OZ. AND I WOULD TRY TO MOUNT THE TANK RIGHT ON THE BALANCE POINT.

I am waiting on mine, Chip said they should start shipping in two weeks, I have the same servos for the rudder and 9153 for ailerons and elevators, 3W106 QS for power.
What size spinner do you have on your plane? Can you post more pictures so I can start getting ideas ?

i think it is a 4inch true turn it used to be on a 35% edge . it is jeffs plane i just put it together for him so thats why im thinking a 4inch spinner . i will be getting one also and am very anxious to get it going also . i have a 3-w 100 toc engine for mine . i will try to post some pics but i didnt take alot of them. you will have to make some servo arms for the rudder servos . i dont think anybody is making them . swb isnt making them . maybe somebody else is but im not sure . i made the arms for jeffs plane. heres a pic of the servo arms for the rudder

I was trying to get the self adjusting rudder servo tray for the 9152's from SWB but they e-mail me back saying, they don't make one for those servos yet. So for now I'll do what you did.

I hate to say it but if you can try to exchange the 9153's for 9152's. The 9153's are no ware near the servo the 9152 is and even though they are rated as being faster, they will not be due to the loss of power they will not deflect the surface. I have tested the 2 back to back several times and the results are the same..

AS I SAID I WOULD LET YOU KNOW HOW THE 300S IS DOING AFTER I TALKED TO JEFF. AFTER SOMEMORE TEST FLIGHTS. HE HAS PUT SEVERAL MORE FLIGHTS ON THE PLANE SINCE WE TEST FLEW IT AND HAS NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT IT . HE SAID IT IS LIKE ON A RAIL AND REALLY REALLY LIKES THE PLANE. HE WILL BE FLYING THIS PLANE IN THE XFC THIS SUMMER. I CANT WAIT TO GET MINE.

I wish I would've known sooner because I bought the servos back in February when I ordered the plane, I don't think I can send them back to Tower and exchange after this long. But thanks for the info, maybe I can use them in something else. Chip what size spinner do I need, and what prop do you recomend for the 3W 106 QS ?

GO to the aeroworks web-site, they have the manual to download and it shows the pipe installation. aero-works.net/store/ click on the Extra , scroll down and you will see the Manual

Hey I noticed that the picture of this plane on his website has a JR sticker on it. What's up with that? I thought Chip was a Futaba man.
