Want to try something abit new! I have 2 of your pipes know Dave i also have a bonzi quite pipe... The bonzi pipe never seems to come onto pipe!! Never liked to Rev.
Your CS28 is on my Makara at the moment..... So just want to try a different pipe see if it make any difference to speed.
Im getting 51.3mph out of it know with a tunned 26.

Its getting a tuned 30 so hopefully will be able to pull a bigger prop.

Try the CS24a pipe, very good. Thats a pretty good speed from a Makara that you are getting there, we have two fast ones on our lake and both are running 30.5 Zenoah based motors.

Inquireing minds wants to know .. what's a Makara ? ... Link to website ?

Saw a YouTube video of a Fiat Uno / Apache like hull with big wing.

Don't think as you have a pipe from Dave ... another exhaust will SOUND faster , speed will be about the same.

[link=http://www.prestwich.ndirect.co.uk/deepvboats.htm]The Makara[/link], Dave seems to have the molds now. It used to be made by Paul Firmin, Nimrif Models.

I hit 52 with mine on GPS with the 30.5cc big bore. Try not to get too hung up on top speed on these, set it up for good acceleration off the turns and stability and you will have a great time with it, it is the one boat of mine that just runs in any weather, great fun and never get bored with it.

Pipes actually do make a good deal of difference. One thing to be wary of if you run the top on yours is heat build up from the pipe is significant, I wrapped my pipe in fibre rope to reduce the effects, plenty of ventilation needed.

I don't have any Makara moulds. Paul Firmin would probably cut his right arm off before he would sell them to me.
Makara looks to me like an Apache 57 but with a longer hatch for ease of building.

Hey Henk im quite happy building play boats (Apache 58) that have hit 59 mph with a single 30 cc zenoah lol.
A cpl of guys running the Zen 7 see 52 mph, good speed for these type of hulls.Be interesting to see how fast Bobs runs with the inline k600 and twin drives with the 6717/3 props once he gets her dialed in.
But i agree with Glenn dong get obsessed with top speed set her up for good all round performance and enjoy them, you cant beat them in the chop.

Whichever pipe you use you wont be able to tune the motor to its max,if you want top performance and a deep vee style pipe id go with the qd hot pipe.Or ask Don Holly to build you a custom one if needed see link.
