Default What do you pay for glow fuel?

After reading numerous threads on people not wanting to use nitro mixed fuels, I wonder if it's the cost. I know in the UK it is expensive, but how expensive? Do we use low nitro just to save a buck? So here's what I pay for fuel:
5/18..............10.95/gallon
15/18.............14.50/gallon
YS20/20mix.....16.95/gallon

I've paid $6 for Powermaster FAI, and $18.50 for CoolPower 30% Heli. These are somewhat unusual prices and I think the CoolPower is now up to $20. Otherwise, our prices seem to be similar to Ben Flyn give or take a buck.

Yup Jim and the 15% powermaster is on sale again at HP for 9.99. Better run down and buy some. I still have 7 gallons from the last time they had it for 9.99.

I usually buy YS/Saito 20/20 on sale at Hobby People for $15.99. I think normal price is $21.99. The only glow engines I have are Saito 4-strokes so that's the only glow fuel I buy.

This post is directed at "ptgarcia". I also purchase YS 20/20 fuel at Hobby People. From your location as listed in Fontana, Ca. can I assume you are buying fuel from the store in Ranchgogomonga? If you are than I am being taken advantage of by paying $19.95 a gallon and you are only paying $15.99 for the same fuel. Something is not right. Please tell me how I can by this fuel at your cost from the same store.

Right now 20/20 powermaster is on sale at Hobby People for 14.99. You have to watch their flyers.

flycatch,

Yeah, I get my 20/20 from the Hobby People in Rancho Cucamonga. Regular price is $21.99 per gallon. But a few times a year it goes on sale for right around $15 per gallon. When it does I go in and grab a few gallons. I don't fly more than once a week so it lasts me a while. If your not already, get on the Hobby People mailing list and pay close attention to their flyers they send out. In one of the last few there was a coupon for $5 off any gallon can of PowerMaster. I grabbed a few flyers and bought a few gallons.

I payed £13.99 for a (US) gallon of coolpower 5%. So as well as the high price, its a short measure.
I pay £8.99 for a (UK) gallon of GS5. That is why I switched to GS5 and spend longer cleaning my plane after flying.

I can believe £4 a PINT for GX16 fuel. GS5 is only 5% nitro and I get it from Vulcan Models in Newton-le-willows.

So is that about 24 US dollars per gallon for 5%?[X(]

Mike's Hobby Shop in Carrollton TX sells Ritch's Brew 10% for 8.95 per gallon and 15% for 9.95. In multiple case purchases, Magnum Fuels 10% is 9.35 per gallon including shipping and 15% is about a dollar more. Magnum is located in Colorado.

I don't pay for shipping. It's my local hobby shop. Not the best but the closest. They are all over Southern California. I don't even know if they even ship fuel. You'd have to call them to see.

I wish they'd put 5% or FAI on sale but they don't sell enough to bother or so they've told me.

after doing the math my homebrew 20/20 with 100% klotz benol comes out to $22 a gallon.

lower percentages of nitro would come out much cheaper as i pay around $15 a liter for it.

I wouldn't pay $15 per liter for anything I couldn't drink. I wonder how nitro goes with margarita mix.

In a nutshell, yes.
Makes you understand why Irvine manufactures their engines to run best at 5% nitro.

We have a local hobby shop that sells Coolpower 15% heli mix which is what I use in my planes for $10.99 gal. 10% is 9.99 gal. You have to be a member of a local club or AMA to get that price though

All you guys are getting your fuel less than me (except for those blokes across sea), why do people want to run the least amount of nitro in their engines? Is it to save a few bucks a year????? I run 20/20 in everything except my Moki 210.
