If GM or Ford tried to keep a prototype quiet around you guys, it would never have an introduction.
One hint, is a prototype and have solved the problem of one tank and four engines. Will post that story soon.

Well now that the ground has stopped shaking (from the knees of the now Multiman) I guess that I can get a few notes out. It is an 80" and is geared to the 15 to 25/32 crowd.

I would suggest that if you have not done more than two motors a bunch (most have not) that you do NOT use air bleed motors. It is just way more trouble setting needles and you will probably have to drill the air passages on the carbs to get a reliable low rpm on all four.

It will be a while before the bird is ready for sale but the plane flys very good.

I know the payback will be strong, but I could not resist the chance.

Robby:

Washing machine? Get real.

Or do you expect us to believe you go flying while wearing your Armani suits? No? Maybe something casual you picked up on Bond Street?

What? Oh, I see. Brooks Brothers. Sure.

I guess that is a subject that needs to be run before "Mm Formerly Known as Tm" (this is the last time the Multiman name will be used unless his adoring public would like to have the name changed). I will gladly give as many tidbits as is politically correct. BTW I am no where near politically correct but I will not get Tm into too much trouble.

The wing span is 80"
The motors used were Mag 32's (cause they were on sale) and way over powered
the weight lees fuel is approx 12lb
I believe that the struts that are on the prototype will be in the production version as well

Cedar Hobbies is the importer and that is all that I think I can say and not get anybody in more trouble

BTW the pic on the right is a downwind one motor out landing that was flawless. I will leave it up to Y'all to decide if the pilot had anything to do with it or just a great bird.

Tm even the Hammer said that you were still shaking hard at the flight center (:>

The pic on the left is Neil (Cedar Hobbies)

THE VERY MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER is that you can tell them the plane costs (whatever is on the box) and that all the others stuff will have to be pulled out of that box when she sees it for the first time or at least tell her it came from the box and it would not hurt to get the credit card bills sent to your work adress

I am just kidding but there are a few folks that I know of living that way for real.

Merry Christmas and take care

Terror Dactyl has once again, scared all around him. This is a prototype plane. I take it off...ok so I roll it three times in a row. I hand it off to Spinman who flies it around and has a good time in very tight turns. Mr.Dactyl get it starts loops and snap rolls!! OK so it was four mistakes high. Scares himself and us,,,then hands it back.

Camoflauge it! The more junk you have in your hobby room the easier something new disappears into it.

Twinman
Here is what I saw from this side of the radio:
I was asked if I wanted to fly the bird, of course, as I can crash anybody's airplane. Being asked that I got tunnel vision on the bird.

After finally wrestling the box out of TM's hands I started flying, the turn arounds were extremely small diameter with a medium amount of elevator (but not twitchy) checked to see if there was any D/R, TM said none programed and he was right.

This is a great visual with a box in your hand, BUT just flying the pattern was BORING, I had not seen the maiden flight and presumed that at least a loop had been done then and having just seen a very nice series of three quick rolls, for an 80" bomber, going to what felt like about 1/2 throttle on a Phew Ta Baa (yes I am JR owner) I proceed to do a reasonable loop after another pass around the pattern (the speed seemed okay). The bird started to track straight up and around but at the top it fell out of the loop and I let loose of the stick as it started to spin straight down. Since I had just let loose it only did one rev and stopped. I will have to say that TM did say I had taken the stick to 1/3 throttle and this is a 12lb bird.

I can say that from this it will be easy to do some aerobatics that are typical and some that are atypical which if you get in to trouble just center the three controls and it will straighten up.

It is a good idea that if your high rate elevator is about 30 degrees you should set the low rate to about half of that. I guess that the reason the bird was not twitchy was that even though TM said there was no expo his son knew better and put some in for him..

I have to say that as smooth as I saw [8D]Twinman [8D] land this bird on that elevator rate, he can fly any of my planes any time.

Default RE: B-17

I am surprised that the latest pics have not been posted yet.

The latest rendition of the Cedar Hobbies B-17 ARF was flown this weekend.

It now has 32's wo/pumps for the engines ane I think that it was NOT gyro assisted.

The bird is a rocketship and is stable.

Half throttle and all that was needed to complete a resonabley sized 180degree turn was just the ailerons and only the thought of elevator to make the turn from start to finish.

The elevator is a little big and with a full pull loop the bird snapped out at the top (the elevators are rather large for the size of the horizontal). The loop was really too small for that size bird anyway. Twinman then pulled a more size proportional loop and it did that fine.

The ailerons are very sensitive but not a problem if you keep it in mind that it will roll like a funfly almost.

Yes we did hand the bird back to Twinman for the landing (both times) as we did not want to watch him come down from the adrenaline rush too early, thats our story and we are sticking to it.

Well it is time to get to working on a bird so
