*Snap! Ouch...*

I do support some rehash, becuase it being on fresh insight to old questions...

Anyways, you don't have to read the thread... or reply for that matter...

But, I will say one thing, I searched for "Search" and this is the only thread that it is in the title, so atleast Hoodie isn't a hypocrite...

Actually, if you want to gripe... Gripe about people making subject lines more clear...

Stuff like

"?"
"help me"
"nitro"
"eye n33d h3|P"
"faster?"

Makes the search option useles....

Well I agree.. message boards DO normally get a lot of repeats. But this whole deal with "need more speed" or "how to get it to go faster" is getting old. These things are everywhere and were gonna tell em what they already know.

Anyway.. we havent gotten enough of those to complain.. just yet!
Oh well I'm off to ACE hardware store to buy a coupla screws and get down with my Buggy! I get my motor TODAY! and my bugy is still not done By tomorrow I will have everything to get it going!
Must.... get... buggy....done!

Thanks for the post guys. It is true that each time I see posts like "help", "wont start", "speed", etc, I recommend searching.

I do search a lot before posting myself and I truely believe that I have learned more in this method.

I say who cares, if you dont want to answer the questions than dont. I used to think that people should always use the search feature, but now I think who cares? Its a forum, thats what people do ask questions. If everyone uses the search there wouldnt be a damn question on here. It gets really boring to come on here and see that only 2 people have posted in the past day. And on the matter of saving time, whats your rush? I think chewing people out all the time just makes it harder for new people to get into this hobby. If you act like a jerk and act like your to good to answer there questions, than they will probably say hell with this ill find something else to spend my money on. Lets also remember, their new, they probably dont know that there is a search functinon. Lets all breath noone on here is better than the other, some people have questions, some think there the experts. If you chase them all off, than there wont be anyone to talk to anyway. Half the time you never get your question answered anyway, because people are too tired of answering the same thing. Well oh well!!!! deal with it. Another thing, Companies come out with new RC cars everyday it seems like, if someone is looking for a touring car, and only uses the search feature, they may not know about a car that just came out. I say lets just help them out, you were all new to this once before too. Another thing lets quit griping about the posts thing. When somebody posts a new thread everybody cracks on the person saying that their trying to get there posts higher, who cares if you have 50000000 posts or just one. Great good for you you never start new threads, I guess you must be an expert that never has any questions. This thing is supposed to be fun and realxing, a place where "experts" and newbies can have fun. Let's keep it that way. If you dont like a thread than dont answer it.

.......wow........after reading all of that I have come to the conclusion that you take things WAY TOO SERIOUSLY. Try to relax a bit, life is short.....enjoy yourself I have to much fun with this hobby to get pissed off at people.

Default Running a search

Its amazing how we forget what it was like when we first set foot into the hobby.

Yes I agree some topics get beat over and over but the people pushing these threads are the same as we were when we started.

I remember when I got started, if I had a problem with my car, I ran to the foum and pounded out a couple paragraphs on the keyboard. I spent about a minute doing that and off I went back to doing whatever it was I was doing.
I could always come back and find a ton of replies and in some cases an arguement about my topic.
As I got more seasoned I began to run searches but in some cases I was not able to find an answer to a specific question. While the general topic may have been common, there may have been another aspect tied into my question that had not been answered.

You also have to keep in mind that while a lot of us are very in tune with technology, there are still lots of people that are not and some that just dont care to be.
In other words some people just dont hang out on the Web.
They just want to come on and get instant information. Especially when your working on something and cant get to the next step until you solve the problem. I have been there done that so many times so if I know the answer I have no problem putting it out there. In a lot of cases a link is quick an easy.

I can also remember that feeling in my stomach when I thought I fried my engine after a crash or runaway. I would tear the door down getting into the house to post a question.."did I ruin my engine?"
THere was always someone to answer that question for me.

So I think what Im trying to say is that I dont mind...lol

Default a search can be frustrating

I am an advocate of using the search function, however. I do feel for the newer member's that try and use it only to find. That the thread pertaining to their question has been turned into a product, or personal bashing contest. The same question over and over get's to me too. But, I don't blame anyone if they don't feel like sifting through post after post in hope that someone will get back to the subject of the thread. Still, try doing a search first.

"Doctor heal thyself."
I consider myself an "almost expert", and I'm getting tired of people asking the same question that was just covered in detail in a post and thread just the day before. The "fuel" thing comes to mind. If you're on this forum to learn something about R/C cars and modeling in general that's fine. If you're here to "shoot the breeze" about non-modeling topics, you're at the wrong forum. From the amount of redundant questions you ask, I suggest you learn how to use the SEARCH function, you will get more answers much faster.

Using a search function is a tool.....so to speak. When I'm working on my RC trucks/airplanes.....and I need a tool to do a certain job....I use it....and put it away for next time.

Using the search function is actually quite a very useful tool....and to test it out....try this:

Go to the Search box and type in:

Savage
TMaxx
RC10GT
XXX-NT

Or you can try using names like:

Losi
Associated
Traxxas
HPI

It's a great tool to have at our fingertips.....however....it does take time for everyone to get good at using all kinds of tools.....including a search function. With a little practice and fore thought on our part.....we can actually find it is enjoyable to use the search function.

Give it a try!

Actually, when I first found the forum, I went back and read every single post available before I ever posted my first question. Well, almost every one, I didn't read the ones that pertained to most equipment I didn't own.
