I am interested in obtaining more information on your 2008 Nitro Models F-86 Sabre-140 Radio Controlled Aircraft w/ 60" Wingspan (SABREJET) before I purchase it. My questions are listed below.

The pictures of the bottom surfaces of the wings and of the fuselage do not show any servos mounted. Are all servos and related controls for elevator, rudder, ailerons, and flaps located inside the fuselage and wings?

What are the dimensions of the cowling to help with selection of a glo or gas motor?

What engine (gas, glo, or electric) did you install for the measurement of the flying weight?

What make and model of retracts are installed in the picture at your web site?

May I obtain an electronic version of the instruction manual for information its assembly and other structural dimensions?

I calculated the wing loading to be 36 oz/sq ft using your specs at Nitro Models web site copied below. What is the wing root chord and wing tip chord of this plane?

Is there a review planned or perhaps one being published of this Sabrejet plane for RCU or RC magazine?

I should have posted here that I received the manual from Nitroplanes.

Having recently learned about the Jet Joe turbine engines, I am interested in learning whether anyone has made modifications necessary to the F-86 Sabre-140 for a turbine engine.

Also, what ducted fan, such as AirPower AP-1200 120mm Electric Ducted Fan Unit Combo - 10+ lb with Intake Ring Outside Diameter of 147mm, work with a F-86 Sabre-140?

While I likely with go with electric motor and prop, what glo engine would work best here?

Here is one option that I was just provided: DS75 HDT fan 110 mm EDF unit Nue 19 motor 1.5 8 to 10 Lipo, plus likely Castle 85HV ESC.

This would cost approximately the same as Jet Joe 14lb turbine($1600), but not require AMA waiver.

It appears that this model is designed as a prop driven model. Thus, it would need to be converted to EDF, which may require completely rebuilding the fuselage areas for electronics.

I have an F-86 ready to fly. If all goes as planned it will fly Thursday Oct. 23. The plane is 11.5 lbs. dry. If the wing area is as advertised that is about 30 oz./sq.ft. The jet is PROP DRIVEN. The retracts are "60" size pneumatic with the tank mounted in the "exhaust" and the elevator servos under the stab. The engine is smaller than suggested, I don't need unlimited vertical. The suggested engines would require too much lead in the tail,as is I have 2 oz. in the tail. The main wing tube is now two tubes telescoped together, the tail has a steel rod inside the stab tube. I thought about using my Saito 150 but the CG would drive the weight up. Everything was weighed and placed to mininize weight. We'll see!

We saw! The F-86 flew "off the Board" with only a couple of clicks of up. I C/G'ed a few clicks nose heavy for the first flight. The OS 91 FX had all the power needed to fly scale but not a bullet. That was how I wanted it. Landed dead stick, the transition to glide was good and predictable, speed kept up to provide a very smooth landing on the runway. Nothing to fear here. The jet is 11.5 # without wing tanks. The smaller landing gear gives the F-86 a more scale look.

Nice video! My 86 doesn't have decals yet. Now that I know it's a good a flyer, I'll spend the time to do a little detail work. Over this weekend I put gear doors on but no inner doors. It cleaned up pretty well. I used 1/32" ply to cover the nose gear well. My landing gear is only 5" long and passes through the firewall to a scale location so I had a very large hole in the belly. I'm going to vacuum form covers for the wing servos to further clean up the underside.

BTW Here is a dynamax/OS, plenty of room.

I Have A Eflite Power 160 Motor, With A High Voltage Castle Creation 85Amp Speed Control, Will Be Using 2 (5) Cell 3300 ThunderPower Lipo's. My Prop Size I Will Try First, Is A 18x10.

8 To 9 Cells Drop Down My Prop Size, The 85Amp Will Handle 10 To 12 Cells, I Ran The Same Set Up On My Epic Jet 10 Cells 85Amp Speed Control Eflite Power Size 110. Half Throttle Plenty of Speed And Power. Now I Need Help On Balancing The The F-86 MY CG Stand Only Goes Up To 7 Inches The CG Calls For 11.2 Would I Get A Correct CG If I Made 2 Rails The Same As The CG Stand Rails But 12 Inches Long Rails Instead Can Anybody Help With Ideas. If you don't let the coat hanger get in your way, here is how my F-86 balances. The cords are tied at 284 mm from the leading edge of the wing/fuse point and 90 degrees to the centerline. I balanced a couple of degrees nose heavy and had to use a few clicks of up on the first flight. You can calculate the CG as you do for full scale. The formulas are simple math and they can tell where and how much weight has to be moved. On large projects like my B-17, 120", the math made it easy to balance. No! that's a tissue in the exhaust. My planes all live in the house. Excellent wife!!!!!!! Profg.

Do You Think This Method That I've Come Up With Will Work? What I've Done Is Cut (2) Rails Out That Are 12 Inches Long To Replace The Standand 7 Inch Long CG Balancer Rails, The F-86 Calls For A 11.2 CG Will My CG Balancer Still Work As It Should If I Was Blancning Any Other Planes From 2 Inches To 6 Inches Behind The Lead Edge. Here's Pictures Of What I've Made. Please Give Your Input.
