Fentress rally Huge success!!
Hat's off and Thanks,
To all of the people at the Fentress rally. With the weather being iffy at best we had the largest turnout in recent history. Frank and the guys down there; that put it on deserve a big "at a boy" for all of the work they did. The rescue crew even brought up 2 trucks to retrieve a model that when in to the trees on Sunday. There were many beautiful models there and I hope that someone post's some pics! Several guys got their turbine waivers signed off so we have some newbie guys that can fly on their own now. Many great flights, and beautiful save on a flameout By Eric Bauger with Eddie's huge F-16. Sadly a few models were damaged, but that happens at every event. All three crashes that were bad were turbine powered and we had no FIRES! All in all A great event .We had guys from as far away as Fla. I know Todd will have some pics, the gang from Long Island were there, The VA boys were in force The Pa guys had a strong showing, Delaware was there as well and the MD jet guys brought a group that camped out all weekend at the field and some didn't leave until today. Ok guys put it on the calendar for next year.
Great job again Frank See all of you soon.

great meeting you & the rest of the MD gang.We had a blast as always and there was indeed a huge attendance. We got spared with the weather luckily. The MB 339 you guys flew was awesome & stired up quite a few guys here including myself.I am thinking of ordering one in the next week esp. now cause they have the deal going with a free jet bag along with the ARF.This will be a perfect 1st turbine & I already have my wren54 on order.
The malchoines(sp) put on a ripping show as always with dave jr's rip roaring inverted passes & 4 point rolls 10 feet off the deck. And the 1st flight on their F100 went perfect, what a beautiful machine & sure to be a high static scorer at upcoming jet events.Eddies F16 was huge ,very very scale and flat out awesome and flew outstanding @ the cool hands of eric.Your camo bobcat is sweet ron-a very different scheme for a cat and flew awesome too. There unfortantly was 3 crashes ,the worse being the brand new bobcat on 1st flight that was totally detroyed on takeoff-hated to see that - was a pretty cat . All in all only 3 crashes the whole weekend wasnt bad considering all the jets we had in the air
We had another great event and a very fun time, had a big cookout sat night with good friends which we do every year and is always a good time too.See you guys next may or come up & fly soon on a weekend with us
Steve

Todd Witkoff gets ready for ANOTHER flight and pit helper Zack.
Good job this weekend Todd.
I think Todd answered at least 2000 questions and spoke with every single person (spectator and pilot) that showed up. There was a lot of interest in his Euro.

Great Weekend
I agree, the Fentress event is a keeper. It is held at a NAS aux. field with MORE than generous flying area and excellent runway facilities.
This site reminded me of my days when I was stationed at Patuxent River NATS during Vietnam just up the bay.
I believe my alba-mater, (the USN) did the honors with the Burgers and dogs.
While the skies where threatening for a better part of the event, there was very little to no rain and anyone wanting to fly, had plenty of opportunity.
To Frank, George and all the other team members who put this event together, Well Done !
Regards
