Default shine em up

Shine em up good, Long Beach Airport Operations, has given me leave from work to come out and record the event, big question though is how do I squeeze in the Long Beach Grand Prix?
I have already built the web page, just waiting for pictures. I am hoping to see one, or maybe two of the prototype 33% scale Golden West A-37 Dragonflys out there. Tad, Henry, it's crunch time guys. The little day-glow Spot of mine will be on the ramp, sans turbine waiver though, (Fresno is where I should be able to break-out). Thinking Joe is gonna actually break the sound barrier now that he has some room to operate.

I'll be there to fly Jason's Bobcat, Ken's hotspot and whatever Tony will let me fly!

No, but really folks, I'll bring the 18, F104 and Hotspot. No Jason, I won't let you fly the 104 until you actually build your own plane.

Looking forward to a great weekend having you all over to the home field!

I'll be out there sometime on Friday. I will be pushing George Allison's F-15 through the air, helping Joe Castelao with his newly converted BVM F-80 with P-120 power, and I might even throw my BVM Mig 15 inhte car for the ride down.

John,
I sure hope we have the opportunity to see the Mig at BITW. You need to spend less time on all your friends Bandits and Bobcats. ( VBG)

I'll be up there.. nothing to show except myself, and that's something few people WANT to see.. hehe.

As for flying.. basically anything anyone lets me get my hands on.

Matt,

Would you beleive that the Olympus powered 18 was the first jet (DF or Turbine) I ever purchased/built?! Talk about jumping in with both feet. Luckily some fellers smarter than me told me I better get something else to get my feet wet and thats where the hotspot came in!

BTW I still like you OK even if you have a Russian Jet.

If you are in L.A. then you need to take the 5 Freeway south . The exit, Sand Canyon is about 5 miles south( approximately) of the 91 Freeway. Take the Sand Canyon exit. You then turn left and go NorthEast back under the freeway. The next light which you can turn at is Trabuco. Turn right at Trabuco and proceed straight, into the main gate of El Toro ( about 1/4 mile). Once you are thru the gate their will be signs directing you to the field. Be sure and say good morning to the Sheriff's officer who is on duty at the gate ( this helps to keep us in good graces with them).

I almost forgot. The event is only set for Fri, Sat, & Sun. We will be at the field in the afternoon on Thursday, setting up. If you plan on coming down on Thursday you will need to pick up a 15.00 day pass. The county requires this pass for all guests. The passes are available from Sam Wrights printing shop just down the street from the field. I will get the directions and post the info. Please do not show up on Thursday and tell the guard that you are here for the jet meet. If you do not have a pass, they will not allow you in, period. The field will be open on the scheduled days as early as 6:00 a.m. Please be sure that once you come onto the base that you proceed directly to the flying field. The Sherrif's dept has and will remove anyone who is found in any areas that they do not belong.

My 12 yr. old, Corey, will be tooling his Avonds F-15 around a bit. He is really looking forward to it. His crew chief, mechanic, and driver will be there also.

I can send a 1 mb pdf file of the 4 pg. "Best in the West" event flyer to anyone who wants it. It includes general info, maps, hotel info, etc.

Send request to [email protected]
In the subject area put "BITW" pdf request.
