Yes, that is correct. Also, the plane is actually 71", not 74". RJetss did correct his post. The earlier version of this plane is 70-1/2" and listed most places as 70". This plane is manufactured by ARF Manufacturing in China and is sold by many dealers under several different brand names. Flew mine today, lots of fun with the CRRC GF40I.

RE: SPE 43
Hey Guys I have a GREAT IDEA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets put a DL50 on it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can make up the weight difference between the 40 & 45cc motors
by installing ONE A123 battery for the entire plane..
It would power the ignition, receiver and the servos on the one battery...
MIGHT EVEN BE LIGHTER !!!!!!!
I am going flying... Hope you can figure ALL of this out....

Sorry, forgot to give you the weight, the one with the CRRC GF26I in it weighs about 10 lbs (older version). The one I have the GF40I in is the latter version of the same plane and weighs 11-1/2 lbs. without fuel. The weight difference between the two engines is only 5.2 ounces. The latter version of the same plane from the same factory is about a pound heavier.

There are 2 versions of the Yak available and also 2 different colour schemes. There's the Yak54 and the Yak 55.The Yak 54 is 1/2" longer and the Yak 55 has a slightly larger wing area 1030sq in vs 1007 sq in.The older Yaks didn't have detachable airfoiled tailplanes.
They are considered 30cc planes so a 26cc engine would be a bit underpowered especially the spe26 and the older CRRC26 which was c***.Flying around with standard aerobatics is alright but all out 3D can be hairy if you don't have reserve power at hand! I have the extra260,edge 540,Yak54 and the 68in sukhoi plus their bigger 50cc planes. These planes perform extemely well with a OS 120AX,OS 160, YS110 or Zenoah G20. I wasn't that impressed with their performance with the spe40.
My spe43 is in my midwestcap232.At close to 14lbs, I'm not expecting much. The vibration levels are pretty high so I'm reluctant to put it in the Yak or Extra 260.

Do not use the same battery for ignition and reciever, you will have radio problems. Use the 26cc if you want a sport, IMAC, dabble in 3-D plane. If you want unlimited 3-D capability and the power to weight ratio of most 30% planes, use the 40cc.

I have a BLING 3D with a DL 50 and SEVEN digital high torq servos and one standard
TME smoke system, Futuba 2.4 receiver, and ONE A123 2300ma battery for ALL.... Guess What: it works
It uses 180 ma per 11min flight.. Can safetly fly 5 flights on a charge...
A year ago when I built the plane I had FOUR batteries in it and all I did between flights
is check and charge batteries.....
A123 are the ONLY way to go at least on 2.4... NO regulator needed....
Now on 142 flights and flying today...

Hi Walt,
I don' use 2.floor, I'll hold on to my synthesized FM as long as I can. I have tried the single batt myself on an FM set up and all is fine until I started the engine, never got off the ground. I've seen others at our club that tried the same thing, same results.

RE: SPE 43
Can someone help me out. I broke off the mounting lug of my SPE43 and was searching for a new crankcase replacement. Apparently for the 2009 version of the spe43, they have gotten rid of the rear exposed crankshaft. My SPE43 has the exposed crankshaft.
Are spares still available for my older model? If I was to change to the newer crankcase which doesn't have the exposed crankshaft, what are the parts i need to effect a change?
Thanks

RE: SPE 43
An old thread i know but just found it...
Anyone still running one of these?
I have a Kangke Waco and was wondering if it would make a good match.
http://www.kangkeusa.com/Super_Kraft/waco_upf7.htm
It listed as up to a 2.4 gas/glow which converts to 39 cc. Close enough?
Obviously not looking to 3D this thing, just fly it on gas and seeing if anything I have will fit the engine...
I also have a Great Planes Giant Scale Super Sportster ARF:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLYC5&P=ML
but that seems to cap at 32cc. I was thinking at using a Quadra 35 in that.
Thanks,
Bill S.
