Faffing about making things and maybe even saving a few quid is one of the parts of aeromodelling I've been enjoying for 50 years.

Its true, the art of building and making things is fading fast, however that aside, many modelers simply don't have the time to sit and 'make' a UAT or other items for that matter - those with time to spare a lucky people, I wish I had more []

Shaun I have never used a UAT in any of my turbines. I have always done a header tank like you have. I have never had any trouble doing it that way. George

I have thousands of flight on all my turbines without a UAT. Normally just a 4 oz Dubro with a Large Felt clunk suspended in the center of the tank. Never had a flame out!

Have Marc's CAT in my Ultra Lightning....see CARF Lightning Install post here
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11013397/tm.htm
its in the 2nd pick. Marc we modified (ok, John R did it) how we mounted it-used your mount and cut a slots into the existing hole so we could mount it and use the o-ring to allow for easy removal.
AWESOME product. going to get two for the Ultra Flashes on the bench.
what size should i get for the UF??
thanks
joe

Hi,
I ended up making a bubble trap out of a DuBro 2-ounce hard plastic tank. I used a pleated paper filter from O'Rieley's and some of those fittings from Todd at Dreamworks. Actually, I ordered the fittings from Todd (which showed up a few days later lickety-split) but then lost them
I Plan-B'd to a Sullivan fuel cap fitting which I had to trim with a dremel so that it was relatively flush with the inside of the tank. All-in-all, it cost me around $15. No shaking or purging, and when I tested it, it delivered bubble-free fuel until just over half of the paper clunk was out of the fuel. I do believe my last UAT was my last UAT.

Regards the UF it depends on space and the turbine size - always put the largest in if you have room.
I am shipping another order to Todd later this week so if he is out of stock on some sizes he should be OK next week.

RE: No Room For UAT...
Sorry, I shouldn't have been so firm but " your and you're, there, their and they're, off of" etc to mention just a few are so misused these days. My cooment was triggered as I have just had an email from a bank which simply didn't make sense such was the English. Texting etc. is taking its toll !

David.

David,
I liked your correction. I am astounded at the bad grammar regularly seen here on RCU. You would think someone who could afford a turbine would know simple English rules such as contractions, possessives, etc.

Marcs,
I wasn't singling you out with my comment. Sorry about that if it seemed that way. I was just lamenting the butchering of the King's English you see here every day on RCU. I'm afraid social networking and Twitter are taking their toll.
