YS-115 Rough on Idle
New motor inverted starts up good and when on the ground, guns up good on 20-20 fuel. Backing down to idle, runs OK for 30-60 seconds then dies. Sometimes runs backward if trying to kill motor. It it too rich?

RE: YS-115 Rough on Idle
Give us some more info:
1) Prop
2) Plug
3) which fuel
4) RPM at idle and WOT
5) does it slow down and die or speed up and die
I have posted this link a lot:
http://www.julton.net/Fact%20Sheet%20YS%20Engines.html
Worth a read.

RE: YS-115 Rough on Idle
That is an excellent article on operating YS motors...have read it many times.
on my FS-115
Prop - APC 14x8
plug - OS-F
Fuel - Power Master 20-20
Have not tached the high end or low end yet...will do that tomorrow night when I run up motor
another problem I noted was no tank pressure when opening the vent line stopper! Maybe my check value was backwards - doubled checked with instructions
another thing I noted was the low end valve was turned out 3 & half to 4 turns - way too rich - am backing it down to 1 & half turns open

RE: YS-115 Rough on Idle
Thanks, I finally got steady low end rpm at about 2,200. High rpm pegged at 11,100. I think my problem was an inverted check value. Tonight the vent line had good pressure when releasing it. Also I kept adjusting low end 1/8 of turn - clockwise and the low end settled right down with no reverse running when throttle was closed all the way. I thinks its ready for the maiden.
