YS 170 DZ Needle valve and regulator / low speed setting
I was looking all around for such info and no luck, so here is my testing finally for good setting:
YS 170 DZ High speed needle valve setting is 1 ¾ CCW turns of fully closed, and the low speed / regulator setting is 2 ¼ CCW turns of fully closed.
I was using Master Airscrew 18x8 Classic G/F Nylon Propeller,
Fuel used is Morgan Heli 30% nitro
Temp was 23.5 C – 74 F
Elevation (ft): 330
RPM 8600
HP 3.95
2900 Watt
Static thrust 22 ib
speed 65 MPH

RE: YS 170 DZ Needle valve and regulator / low speed setting
It is not the same from engine to engine. Too many variables, needle difference, fuel difference, altitude difference.
Settings don't transfer from one engine to another. At best they can be used as a rough starting point.
