removing foams
hi guys,
i have a trinity switchblade and the foam tires will need replacing at some point. How does one typically remove foam donuts from the rims of a 1/12 pan car and replace? I've heard of boiling water, dipping in acetone, lacquer thinner, etc. I would rather not have to tru them off since I don't have a tire truer.
Also, how are people gluing there donuts on these days?
Hope someone can't comment. Thanks.
Jess

RE: removing foams
Use Acetone and the tire will just fall right off,, I use acetone to remove the rubber tires from useable rims, let them soak over night and they'll be clean as a whistle
I use a 2 gallon plastic paint bucket with 2 quarts of acetone, it also has a lid so the acetone doesn't evaporate into the atmosphere, without the lid you're wasting money.
