How are your winter projects comming?
Hello everyone. Thought I would post a winter project thread. As every winter here in Ohio, I have high ambitions for 'building season'. Here are my goals. Get two projects out to others, finish our Meister P-47, finish all work on my 90" P-38, build new wings for my Godfrey Laser 200 and complete all the restoration work including installing the new 3W 75 and reinstalling all the controls, at least start on a Bud Nosen 1/4 scale Citabria I have had for a couple years, and go over all my flying fleet to ready it for the next season. How is everybody else doing?

RE: How are your winter projects comming?
I have been working on finishing up quite a few projects. My main project I have been working on is scratch building a 1/2 scale stits sky baby which has so far been about a 4 year project to date and its about 60% finished ( I actually have a build thread for it on RCU if you do a search). I am plan building a 40 size monocoupe 90a which needs some covering now. I am also working with my dad to restore some of his 30 year old planes that he built but never finished. One of those planes being a house of balsa chipmunk kit. And probably the last thing I am working on is a combat corsair from great planes that my dad just gave me for christmas. (he got the p-51). I cant seem to keep my focus on just one plane at a time, I have to jump from plane to plane and work on them all a little at a time.

My main build for this winter will be a BUSA Fokker Triplane. So far, I've just started and the bottom wing is nearly done. Besides that there's an OT "Kloud King" to finish covering and some repairs to make to a few of my gliders. It's enough to keep me busy for the next few months.

Hi Ram- since my 2 year house remodel project is winding down I am starting to crank 'em out of my 'rural factory'! I just finished varnishing the mahogany stairs and railing and just need to install the iron balusters. A 1/6 Sig Cub conversion PA-12 is ready for covering and paint, 1/6 IK-3 almost ready for glass and paint, 80" Boeing B-9 just needs tail feathers, outer wing panels and paint, 1/4 Big Bonzo needs stab tailfeathers, reg. #'s and paint cowling, 1/4 DH-5 needs cowl, covering and painting, Bristol Boxkite needs L.G. repair, 1/4 Rearwin needs wing panels and covering, finnished 1/4 RRG Prufling sailplane plans and just started 1/4 Nemeth Umbrellaplane plans. I cover and paint in the spring so hopefully things will be on schedule for flying.

RE: How are your winter projects comming?
I finished my Hangar 9 Taylorcraft right before Christmas. Santa brought me an iPod instead of the RCGuys Super Decathlon I asked for. I was good all year too.
Oh well, the iPod is really cool. I guess I'll build the Cox Wings Pitts M12 I bought last year instead of a Decathlon.

RE: How are your winter projects comming?
I just finished the first half of my winter project. Here's the thread;
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9398400/tm.htm
My next project on the board is to build an old Dream Catcher Hobbies Sailaire sailplane
It has been 25 deg all day here in southeast Texas. This is not supposed to happen here! It sure gives me inspiration to stay in the shop building instead of ranching duties which I really should be doing.

I just started on an 81" wingspan OV-10 by Rich Uravich.
I have the plans but not the build book if there ever was one for this plane. Sure would help move things along.
Reason for building this plane is that while I was in Vietnam my Dad was building the planes in Columbus, Ohio. Funny thing is my wife now works in the building where they were built. It has been converted over to offices and such. I was able to get a short kit and it makes things a bit nicer. Having to put together all the other pieces and parts is tricky.
Going to be a challenge but still looking forward to it.
