Default Flysky thoughts

Okay that is how that works! Kewl! So here is my question guys. I have been looking at the FLYSKY i 6x as a possible cheap new radio (I got bit by the new radio bug LOL) because it is cheap like me lol and seems to be well recommended but I am a glow flier. Is this thing up to the task of controlling a .40 to .60 size model and is the range sufficient for sport flying of this type aircraft. Also what about vibration? Can I eliminate enough vibration to make it usable? Any thoughts?

Out of over 1000 reviews Banggood has a 4.9 rating on the Flysky i6X. I would go through them to see if there is any discussion on range. I'm concerned about that small antenna.

I've had mine for 8 years, and I'm one of those 1,000 happy customers. I have a FlySky FS-iA6 receiver in my 60 size Kaos without any glitches, range issues, or antenna concerns. The receiver battery telemetry is handy to see on the display.
Feels cheaply made, but so does the new Futaba 6 channel that sells for twice the price. Took a little time to mix a throttle cut for my glow engine, but still a good radio. Battery also lasts a lot longer than I get out of my other radios.

Great to hear. I have a Turnigy i6S and i9 and a FlySky i10 transmitters and a slew of both Turning and FlySky receivers.

Okay guys here I am shaking my head at how happy this transmitter has made me and I haven't even had it into the air yet. All the reviews were cheap little raioi but good performance. To that I can only say what more do you want? Now I am looking ahead to the next one and I have to decide which one id my next choice. At the moment the choice seems to be the Flysky ts-8 or the Radiomaster TX 12. Especially after i find out that my Flysky receivers will work with the Radiomaster. I need to say up front money is indeed an issue. So all you guys who want to jump in with the upticket units like the tX16 and etc. sorry but not in the running. so what are your thoughts?

Default Help

Okay I took the little TX out for a range test the other day and only got about 150 meters. I thought to myself that does not seem right so I went home and proceeded to reroute the RX antennas. Went back yesterday and received same result. I have another RX on the way so I can switch them out to see if that is the problem I thought. In the mean time I started doing some digging online. Turns out the TX is supposed to be using RF range of 2.408 to 2.475 but mine is showing 2.400. Also it is showing that on the RF mode it is using carrier only and using the left antenna only. This seemed odd to me so I tried to change any of those settings. When I change them and then go out of that screen and back in it has changed them back to what I found originally. I am a loss here what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can find the FlySky fs-i10, it has a feature that can program the 4 channel expanders so you can use the iA6C and channels higher than 6, 8, or 10 channels in a standard receiver.

Okay I came home from the flying field yesterday with a huge smile on my face. No I didn't get the plane in the air. This little radio is doing what I suspect it does best , it taught me something.I have been an aermodoeler for 30 some years but never had a range check been so instructional. On 72 mhz range wasn't a big issue. You turned on your set with the antenna collapsed and walked out so many paces. It was that simple , you were just checking to see you had a link, you knew the radio had waaayyy more range than your eyes. Well the last 3 trips to the flying field had been a little concerning. I wasn't getting decent range at all. Set the plane on the ground at one end of runway and walked away, didn't even get to the end of the runway on one go. Was looking through all the settings to see what I had not done right because this little radio had such good reviews. Well for some reason yesterday it clicked in my mind they keep talking about in the air. No I wasn't going to fly it but what about setting it up on on of the stands we used to set our planes up at one end of the runway. Viola I waked way past the end of not just the runway but the field and never got below 8 out of 10 signal strength. Who knew! like i said BIG smile on my face!
