What jet for a Dynamax GAAG23 and Rossi .61
A friend picked up a Rossi .61 in a Dynamax GAAG23 fan (I think) and is hot for building something to wrap around it. Would like a kit but would scratch build if needed. Anyone have any ideas? I'm afraid neither of us know much about ducted fans and neither does anyone in our club, but he really wants to try it out. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe you mean Rossi .65, the Rossi .65DF is built in a .61 case, you can verify this by looking at the side of the engine mounting lug, it should have .65 stamped into the shiny side of the engine lug. If the .65 stamp isn't there, you have a rear exhaust .61 which will not spool up a Dynamax.

I'm just getting back to check this. Forgot I posted it for a friend. Sorry.
Thanks, frankflyboy. I'll ask him tonight to check.
Still wondering if there is a kit or plans out there for it.

I have confirmed it is a .65 Rossi.
Can anyone direct me where to look for kits or plans for this combo?

Try the Skyburner .60 from 'Model Airplane News' plans service. I just finished mine and flew the maiden flight Saturday. It's an excellent flyer! Smooth easy take off, tracks like its on rails, grooves in the turns like a pylon racer, crisp and responsive like a pattern plane, floats in for landing. No bad habits. It flies so well and is so stable I was immediately comfortable with it and was doing rolls, split s, and half cuban 8s. On the maiden flight!! I never do that stuff on a maiden flight!
The plans call for a .60 to .91 DF engine and a dynamax fan unit. The author says he got the best performance with a .65 and dynamax fan. It also has a fixed/retract option. I'm using a Rossi .81 with a muffled pipe on a Ramtec fan unit in mine. The author also states that top speed with a .61 is 125 mph and 140 on a .77 but its stable as a rock form just above stall to balls to the wall.
You wouldn’t be disappointed. I’m defiantly not disappointed with mine.

Vincent, thanks! Do you think the Rossi .65 would have enough power?
Phantomguy, thanks! Will check out those plans.
Raven, that sounds like what we're looking for! Wish we could get a kit like that, but plans may be the way we need to go after looking at prices.
