Default thrust bearing split on asp .32

I have never have had this problem but when I was tightening the prop nut it didn't seem like it was going tight. It felt like I was stripping the threads. I stopped to look and the thrust washer is split and the engine is jammed I didn't try to hard to turn it over but something went wrong. Is there parts available for this engine? What would have caused this? ASP.32

Cause? I dunno... this must be a first...

But the engine is not really jammed I think... remove the prop and split drive washer.. it should turn freely again... unless you tightened that drive washer with force up agains the crankcase and maybe did some additional damage...

Just Engines in the UK has all the ASP spares you may ever need, and very goor service... they're fast too...

I just dissassembled the engine seems to be no damage, except I need a new thrust washer.

I think there are two different kinds. The older ones have a flat on the side of the crank that keys the drive washer in one place on the crank. This type is no longer available.

The present design is common on both the 25 and the 32 and is available from Horizon. It is the collet compression 2 pc design.

Enjoy,

Jim
