Photo Twist Skis
The pic that follows shows skis (front and back) that have been made out of a plastic dishwasher tub. Easily bent with a heat gun and resistant to hard impact in cold weather. The pic shows the plane after a hard and short touch and go in -14 degree weather.[img][/img]

For some reason I don't have any "reply" or "quote" icons in the previous posts to click on in order to upload a pic? Any ideas as to why that is? Come to think of it.......in all areas of the forums one can no longer reply to a particular post! What gives?

Success........Mozilla (new broswer) just isn't interpretting RCU's web page completely and the icons were there, just not visible. Here's a close-up of the ski.

JNorton,
Yes, the bolt is double-nutted and thread locked to allow movement of the skis. I used the large 1/4-20 nuts and bolts because I needed the extra weight foward.....on the Twist. The skis have worked in all but the fluffiest of powder. (Over 3' on the ground)

So how does the skis affect the flight characteristics?? I am going to try a set on an 80 inch Edge 540 Profile. I am wondering how large they will have to be for a 11+ pound plane.

I have had no problems flying in cold weather with my glo engines. They just like to run a little richer to help on transition. Also check your batteries more frequently
