I do like it, and it is impresive, but first on my list for a big sports plane is Jack Holland's Jacknife .... I would jump into the Bandit sometime later next year after that ... As for right now, i have 3 other jets, and 2 turbine helis to finish before i can even think of anytihng else ...

Just asking out of curiosity & not BVM bashing here, but...

Is the Big Bandit just a reworked version of Comp-Arf's new Lightning?

It wouldn't shock me, after all Comp-Arf does make the Kingcat & Bobcat airframes for BVM.

From the pics it seems like there's a few similarities on the exterior.

Anybody at the Georgia meet get to check these out next to each other?

The new Ultra Bandit looks nothing like a Lightning-they are night & day different

The new Ultra Bandit looks awesome!! Sweet job BVM.In essence the new UB looks quite a bit different than the Super Bandit(I have one) .I Love the extended dual seater cockpit, this is for sure to be yet another huge hit for BVM [8D]

I'm pretty sure the UB is made/assembled by the BVM crew....not overseas.

The Ultra bandit will be produced in Florida at the BVM factory.

Love the looks of it. Looks a lot bigger than the Lightning.

I didn't mean they were exactly the same - its not that hard for Andreas to tweek his molds to make it look different.
As far as "looking bigger", we won't know until the Ultra Bandits actual dimesions are out? Its not on BVM's site yet.

If it's true BVM's making these in house, that's good - 100% control of the finished product.

Like I said earlier, not BVM bashing, just asking a simple question.

The dimensions are available. 98" long, 86" wingspan (that's with a swept wing, the lightening is not as swept). Gonna weigh 40lbs dry and probably pushing towards 55 wet depending an what you got hanging off the wings is my guess.

The only similarities I see is that they are big sport jets. The Ultra Bandit is 100% american made in Florida.

I can not wait to get my hands on one of these. Maybe at FIJR?? I sure hope so.

supposedly this plane will be available in 2 version, one being a regular, and another high performance version .... I also hear the RTF ARF price will be around $8K+

Will be interesting to see how many of these will be in the sky next flying season ...

In think in business they will call this a "change of strategy"..

Certainly is interesting since BVM already have a supplier relationship with C-ARF for a very sucessful ARF product (Kingcat), yet it chooses to not use them for his next ARF.

BV wanted to acheive a level of quality that was beyond what CompArf is able to deliver , therefore the big bandit is being made here, with a much better product quality in the end ..

No matter how hard they try, CompArf will always have a limited quality ( like for instance the 1/8" gap between wings/boom on most king cats and bob cats which is dues to less than perfect wing tube alignment in the wings ) ...what comes out of there flies great, but is never "perfect" ...

Will be interesting to see what construction methods are used on the new bird ...
