Programming two throttles with a 9ZAP...help!
Hi guys, i hope you can help me!
I've recently aquired a world models P-82 Twin Mustang (My first twin RC) and would like to know how to set up the throttles on my Futaba 9ZAP. I intend on using channels 3 and 8 for them so i can adjust each engine seperately to fine tune them. Is this possible? Also will i be able to link both channels to the one throttle trim and use throttle cut as well?
Thanks in advance guys.

Try this site for different ways to handle this situation:

[&o]Haven't tried it yet so I can't personally vouch for how easy they are to set up or how well they work!

[b]On the Futaba "Super Seven" I use channels three and six. With mixing it works fine, and saves channel seven for the flaps.

I fly a triple with a Futaba 8U and might be able to help after you have experimented. Fortunately the setup is not carried in my head but it is in the radio. Desensitizing the pots was the most interesting aspect of the programming. The rest was fairly straightforward.
Don’t think you will be able to use throttle cut.

Hi guys,
Thanks for your rapid responses! That helps me quite a lot. I think i'll have a go at programming them like the Futaba FAQ page says. It would a nice touch that at a flick of a switch i could select left or right or both engines. It would help with starting and tuning as well methinks.
Can't wait to try this baby at the field on saturday! My first twin.

One trick is to use the throttle needle mixer. This mix was intended for mixture control with throttle but in reality it is just a parallel mixer. Like collective and trottle for a helicopter mix. use throttle for one engine and throttle needle for the other. Activate the mix and set values to give normal servo throw (I think default settings). Set each servo center and throw using ATV and Subtrim. Another trick is to use a product like the Matchbox by Jr. Futaba makes one too.
