Hi. Name's Ken(Starfighter).
The Lanier CAP 232 is a heavy ARF, and as such needs a bit of power to perform.
Either of the engines you list, WILL provide enough thrust to fly the acft. BUT, you will not have enough reserve thrust for maneuvers beyond rolls, dives and the occasional loop(from a slight dive).
For best overall performance, I suggest that you consider one of the 50 - 70cc engines, ie. BME, DA, 3W, Fuji, Zenoah. These engines will give you the proper thrust for aerobatic flight w/o making the acft. wingloading unreasonable.
Good luck with it, but remember, it is a heavy ARF for its wingspan.

My friend built one and did everything in the book to keep it light. He ended up at 18 pounds with a ZDZ 50 and CF everything. It flew well but it needed more power according to him. But then again he's a 3D flyer. At 18 pounds, this is heavy for any 50cc out there. Put in a bigger engine and it gets even heavier. So I would not go any higher than 50cc. The ZDZ, DA are both very light engines with lots of power.

Its not really a 3D machine. I have the Midwest one and it hovers pretty well,but precision is where it's at. Go with a DA50 and youll love it. Mine has unlimited verticle,rolls are very axial snaps are crispy critters!!

Thinking of putting a Moki 2.10 in one and need as much input I can get.
I'm thinking with the right prop the Moki will through the Cap all over the sky.
Has anyone trie putting a Moki 2.10 in this plane before.

Moki 2.10 will be no where near enough power for good aerobatics and especially 3D. You need a 50cc gasser on this one.

I have the Moki sitting here just collecting dust , so I have to at least try it.
I was reading about the Moki 2.10 and alot of people use this motor on this size and weight aircraft.
I hope I can get some video of it.

Everyone thinks BIG motor in everything,it's all the rage..
Anyway,try it out and see how it goes..
