Savage / LST suspension Conversion
I want to do something with the suspension on my savage, and since HPI didn't Find it necessary to give you any options as far as shock position goes I was looking into the LST shock conversion because the shocks are a helluva lot beefier than the savage shocks. I was told however that if i could make a bracket that will make my shocks at more of a straight up and down position I'd be just fine with stock shocks. I'm not a parking lot racer or really a racer at all. I'm a basher through and through. If you put it in front of me I'll jump it, or at least try until I break something. all things considered WHAT SHOULD I DO???? Thanks for any input.

RE: Savage / LST suspension Conversion
I've destroyed at least 10 Savage shocks in the last three months, and that's with numerous rebuilds in that time period. Tried different oils, valving, internal and external limiters... I've busted several shock bodies now, pistons don't stay straight long at all, and they continually leak. I'm not wasting anymore of my time on this crappy shock design.
I'm also seriously considering the LST2 shock conversion. The Savage is running pretty good right now so I'm going to leave it be until I get my LST2 sorted out, but the shocks are next on the list of things to upgrade. You don't need shorter towers to run the LST shocks, so some adapter brackets that position them where you want is all that's really needed for the conversion, other than the shocks of course.

Yea I just scored me some LST2 shocks on the Bay for $54US, for a set of four, they are the coolest things I have ever seen!! I am gonna put them on my new project "Flat Chassis Savage". Apparantly you need a kit like chronic says, heres one [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6053171313&category=34 063&fkxs=1]HERE[/link]
Im just gonna fabricate something myself.
