Default one way bearing question

Hi all,

I managed to bust my one way bearing with my rotor start. The actual cause was me, no big surprise here. I fixed the cause (dorked up my slipper in my tranny rebuild). Anyway, why is the part sooo expensive? 12-17.00 (USD) the bearing is very much like my Trex main gear bearing (6.00) and the nut is just a nut, reusable.

I pressed a trex bearing it, and it held for a bit. I've repressed with some loctite 680 (not threadlock, adhesive). I'll see if this holds tomorrow.

Anyone had similiar issues/fixes??

Cheers,
Leslie

Some where on this forum there is a person that listed where you could get just the bearing fairly cheap. There should be a number on the bearing. Call a bearing store and see if they have it. Being I use a pull starter I do not have problems with mine.

Hi fxrs,

Thanks for the link, I knew I could not be the first to run into this. I will see if my fix, with a trex bearing and a touch of 680 holds up, then I'll post to that thread!!

thanks, a ton!!

Leslie
