2 speed cut down to 1
Well i striped the first gear spur but i cant buy the spurs seperate(i have to buy the whole tranny)so i bought one from another company and moded a lil so it could fit by mistake i bought two first gears and no second and i was wondering what will the difference be if i just make my car a single speed like in speed or acceleration?

if you got 2 first gears, you will have the same accelleration, but a FAR lower top speed...
WHy can't you buy them seperate???
Get em from customrccars. CEN even has steel spurs and steel pinions now if you like to spend the money, but the stock plastic ones are cheap.

Herese the plastics. I think 44 and 47 are stock, but you can get a 43 if you want a wee bit higher gearing.

what i meant is that i didnt look it up well and didnt see cen had the replacement ones[:@] so i bought some hpi ones.Thnx allot for info though it ran exactly like you said same accel lower top speed, i think im gona buy a hpi second gear and hopefully my car will be back to normal but for now im runing it with just one speed(at least im runing it again)thnx allot though

heh. do the HPI ones fit well?
I have tried a fair few things with my funfactor, so I have a good Idea of what works and what doesnt now. CHeck out my models and my gallery

lol actually no it didnt fit well at all[:@] first it was rubbing on the chasis and it was to big so the pinions were to close to it, so i lifted the rear end and then moved the engine to fit but still the engine was now to low so i had to then raise the engine. yea it took me quite a few hours to get it all to were i was happy.i got the real spurs on there way so hopefully the ghetofication i did should hold up a few weeks.
