Alaska is over twice the size of Texas, 1/3 the size of the CONUS, and from end-to-end would stretch from LA to Tallahassee. Thats big....lots of flyng sites to choose from, but some areas are not RC-friendly. Which city are you moving to?

Where in Alaska are you going to be located?

Our club has a flying site located on Elmendorf AFB...600 ft paved with some overrun. We have it plowed in winter so one can fly with wheels or skis. Drawback is a 300 ft vertical limit.

We also have a great field in Palmer but it is grass. However the grass is well cared for during the flying season and there is no vertical limit.

During the summer, we have 20 hours of daylight with temperatures in the 70's...very kewl.

At this time I have a ROOkie in flying condition down in California (I'll be visiting it and flying it during the Thanksgiving Weekend).

Send me a pm with a phone # if you'd like to talk about it.

BTW...I don't know if you realize this but it's kinda cold here in the winter.

Cheers!
