On my race Savage I run 5k front and 3k rear.
On my race Savage I run 5k front and 3k rear.
ive just re-built my diffs with nova cups, fully shimmed and 7k oil in the front, 5k in the rear....
i didnt actually realise that these weight oils are reccomended for racing and not bashing. i dont exactly jump my savage off roofs or anything, but i dont race either.
you recon this will be ok? i suppose all i can do is try it....

Is that to say you found information on how to install the new diffs and the easy access housings in your ss kit? If so, can you post a link to that info?
I've been looking around to see if converting to the new housings is (somewhat easily) possible. I've already installed beefed up diffs and filled 'em up....

I'm currently trying to sell my kit new, then I'll just spend the 50 extra bucks to get the X SS kit - I hope..
Otherwise, from what I can gather, beefing up a set of older Sav diffs would cost me about €130 here in Germany - and I still wouldn't have easy access..

I run 120k in the rear diff of my winter basher to almost lock the diff up.
In my other Savage I run 30k in the rear and 10k in the front. That is with the axial .32 and all I do is bash.
