.40 P-51 retracts
I wish to install retracts in my .40 P-51 but was not originally designed for them. I'm sure it's possable, the needed parts are available.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advise on this ?
Will give more specifics if needed.

RE: .40 P-51 retracts
Take the two ribs that the retract units will be mounted between and make copies of the front parts of them from 1/8" plywood.
Glue the plywood doublers to the insides of the two ribs.
Make a mount from 1/4" Model Grade plywood. Make this mount by using a single piece with a hole cut in it (As opposed to two separate pieces - this will keep the two sides even. After it's glued in place you can cut a slot in one side for the gear)
Add tri stock to the bottom of the mount.

RE: .40 P-51 retracts
Thanks for the responce. My biggest problem seems to be is inadiquit space between the ribs to except wheel wells. Mounting the retract itself I've figured out.
