Default Your muffler ever fell off ?

Have you ever spent time in the field looking for you muffler ? Yes, you say? Try this solution. To prevent those muffler bolts from backing out from engine vibration, apply a small amout of Canopy Cement to span the joint between the bolt head and the cylinder head. Be sure the area is oil free. It will setup clear and is easily removed. Those bolts won't come out no more !!

I have never had a muffler fall off, but I have had one come apart and drop the back half. Happened right over the runway on a pass. I actually found it! I figured I used all my luck for the day up on that one....so I quit for the day (ok, ok, it was time to leave anyway....).

Ditto but I never found mine so I also quit for the day. Nothing like an afternoon walk through tick infected fields looking for the rear of a muffler to make you appreciate nature.

Never had the muffler fall off...

But.. i did have my carb retaining screw come out. Regardlerss of the throttle stick setting, I was at 1/2 throttle. Just flew & flew & flew untill I got a deadstick! It was a slow poke, so, just lazy flying..

Locktitie is now my friend!!

im fairly big into RC combat and i Always loose my mufflers. I use locktite on the threads and use a little wire and secure it to the motor. If the muffler decides to jump for its life, it will be tethered with the wire.
