Micro Spirit, check it out
Hi all, this is my 30 inch (or so) version of the Spirit 2m. It takes a little more wind to fly since the airfoil is the same as the big one and the servos stick out under the wing like a foamy, but it glides great and looks really cool.

I have a Mini Spirit 80 cm wingspan. Flies great. I am using a Pee Wee engine with extended tank to take it up when theres no wind at my slope.

Cool, I´d like to see it, specially the radio layout you used, because I couldn´t fit the 3111´s completely in the fuselage.

I used hexTronik HTX900 9 gram servos and I can tell you they are great. Better holding power than HS55s. Receiver is a R147F 35 Mhz Single Conversion slim receiver
Battery pack is a 1700 mah AAA custom pack, GP cells.
Pee Wee is a Pee Wee 0.049 lol

1700 so I charge on Friday and fly all weekend lol. And the pack doesn't weigh more than my 700 mAh pack I have on my Guppy.
A few months ago I upgraded all of my batteries to either 5 cell where possible or high mAh where I could. Now I regret that because I dont have enough money to buy me a new set of MG servos ( I ripped a couple on a bad landing)

I fly a Boeing 767 in my day job and the difference between taking off in Miami and here is 15 tons of payload when total payload is 41 tons. That gives you an idea

Actually it is a free flight copy of the spirit that is made here in Colombia, laser cut. I just converted it to RC using Berg 4 Ch micro receiver, Futaba 3111 servos and a 110 mAh battery fron Sanyo cells. I left the heads of the servos hanging out as they wouldn`t fit inside and used 1mm carbon for pushrods and dubro micro links. If you want I can buy 1 for you here and ship it to you as I often stay in Miami I guess it would be around 20 bucks. Be advised, though, it needs quite a good amount of lift to fly and it flyes very fast.
Mine was covered in Microlite which is the lightest iron on covering I could find. Unfortunatelly my 1 year-old son found it and destroyed it so I got a new kit and will start it soon.
PS he also found the CA bottle as you can see on the cockpit, luckily he didnt glue his eyes shut or something worse[&:]
