Turbine Fuel Additives Question
I have looked on JetCat USA for the fuel additives for the static electricity and the lube oil..... Not seeing anything. Need help in where to puchase these two items if they are necessary. I also looked on Jersey Modeler, where im buying my kerosene and smoke oil tanks / pumps, not seeing them there either. Thanks a lot guys for helping me out.....Very much appreciated. Bob Covish has been very helpful for me also. Spent 94 minutes on phone with him last night. Very informative and i need to quit reading the horror stories the guys are sending me through PM's........Constructive critisism is welcome at all times, but I dont like people who bash others just from their bad experience, so please keep those comments off my posts and stop PM'ing me....that is nerve racking and not helpful at all......If you had a "bad experience" and learned from it, then i would definitely like to hear from you !!!!
By the way.....I am getting the JetCat 120se.......
Is there any better oil than another when it comes to the fuel additives.....i want the best and / or the highly recommended for my model of engine.......Thanks again guys!

There are a lot of good turbine oils out there. Just make sure that on the can it states "mil prf 23699".
I happen to perfer Aeroshell 500. One source for it is www.oil-store.com where you can purchase as many cans as you like. It sell for about $13 a quart. I buy mine from a local distributor in Dallas where a couple of us together and buy it buy the case.
As far a static electricity additive, I don't use it. I think BVM and Dreamworks sell it. Not sure

I didn't use it until I had a static discharge shutdown on my JetCat 120SE ("watchdog" failure message). I figure it's a cheap and easy precaution to avoid a possibly bigger problem.

BVM also has anti static tubing. It is electrically condutive from 10 to the seventh, and 10 to the tenth ohms. (10,000 to 10,000,000 Ohms)

When filling up large kevlar tanks you can fill the hair on your arm stand up if you're close enough to your fuel can.
cheap insurance or piece of mind and the stuff lasts a long time. one capfull per 5 gallons of fuel. Tommy Dodgen once told me the stuff was extremely concentrated.

It takes a very specific set of circumstances to encounter this phenomenon. Dry humidity is one element but the others are more difficult to identify. I had been flying turbines for nearly 10 years before I encountered it. Probably just an issue with this specific airplane (for whatever reason) but I would sure like to avoid a repeat....that's why I now use the anti-static additive.

Yes. The only ones I hear complaining about it are Jetcat owners. If you read the postings on RCU they are all from Jetcat owners (maybe there are a couple of exceptions but I haven't noticed any).
I've been flying turbines for 4 years and have never experienced the problem. I've had a Ram, three Wrens and two Jet Central turbines. Of the guys I fly with only the Jetcats have had an issue. The only manufacturer that mentions the concern on their website is Jetcat.
It seems that the Jetcat ECU is more suceptible to static issues than the others, or perhaps they have other unexplained issues that get blamed on static. I'm not trying to slam their product, just stating an observation.

The bottle is too small to include what should be obvious precautions for use... (from the Stadis 450 safety data sheet)
