Default t-maxx tuning

I have a new t-maxx 3.3 and i have a tunning question. If I gun the throttle from idle, the truck takes off like lightning, and any time I just peg the throttle at almost any speed it does this as well. It can idle for 30 seconds or more and still take off like a rocket. But if I just give it a 1/4 throttle or 1/2 throttle to ease around a turn or something, it loads up like crazy and usually starts stalling until I can get it out onto a large area to run it out. I have a medium TRX plug, and I am using blue thunder fuel. (it was doing this when i was using traxxas fuel as well). I just dont want to have to blip the throttle every time i want to move just a little bit, it has to be harder on all of the other components. Is it a tuning issue, or just the nature of the engine? Please let me know! By the way the top end runs great too. just the slow throttle movements.

Thank You

Sounds like the LSN (low speed needle) is out of tune, just look in the manual and it will tell you what to do

The manual tells me to do the pinch test, which I am in specs from what it says. But, I have learned that the pinch test is just to get it in the ball park. From what I can tell I have the low speed needle in the correct position. It idles just fine at a very low speed, and will get up and go just fine. But if I just kinda baby the throttle for a few seconds, it loads up and gives me problems. I can go through a whole tank just fine if I only blip the throttle, but if I slowley ease onto the throttle, it will load up. As snappy as this engine is, I am worried about hurting other components by blipping the throttle constantly. I have a really hard time keeping the front end of the truck on the ground as it is. Blipping the throttle makes me wheelie uncontrollably. Please help!!!!

1+ If by loading up you mean the engine is flooding than the LSN is set to rich, take it in a 1/16 at a time till the problem goes away. Pay attention to the smoke your engine produces, if you loose smoke at low speed / idle than you are to lean and the problem is either gearing or tranny shifting to soon.

+!; I would re-set the needles back to factory default settings and re-tune it from there. The default settings if I remember correctly are 3-4 turns out from fully closed for the high speed needle and flush with the end of the carb body/slide for the low speed needle....good luck with it man!!!

I had a 3.3 that did the same thing. If I ran half throttle for a couple seconds it would load up and start smoking then I would have to give it full throttle to clear it out. Never did figure it out. Make sure your air filter is clean.

You want the motor to load up at idle.
If it will idle for 30 sec, and not load up it is to lean.
You should have to blip the throttle to keep it cleared out at idle.

It wont load up at idle, it will load up if I just give it a quarter throttle to ease around a turn.
