You mean NOTHING.. Couldn't've said it better meself comrade.
Hey, I actually agree about nitro.. If nitro were burned(EDIT - banned..), I'd give up RC and find something else to waste my money on instead of going electric...
Dang, this is coming full circle on us and getting downright socialist...

Many of you are going to notice that a huge chunk of this thread is now missing. That's because this thread went WAY off topic and started discussing politics. Political discussions are not allowed here on RCU and I have removed all the posts that were political. In addition, the thread also went off topic by discussing laws that have nothing to do with our hobby. Let's keep the thread on topic and keep the political commentary out of the thread. Any posts that can't do this will be removed.

Thanks, Ken. I am very interested in the original topic which was completely hijacked by political BS with no chance of anything but argument.

It just absolutely amazes me that the people that live in california justify thelaws for not having dark colored cars. I lived in california for 20 years and will never live there again.
I just hope the insanity stays there. (anyone from california replying negatively to me will fall on deaf ears.)

Not that I'm criticizing the poster of this thread for starting it, I'm just saying those other posts really didn't need to be deleted.

Who writes the laws? It is a very political forum! This law was trying to sneak in there without anyone knowing how many new laws will also sneak in? And when will we find out about them when we are being arrested for flying or running our gas cars? I took this forum as talking of stupid laws! How will we fight laws that we do not even know they are there till after the fact! I for one do not want to see our RC sports gone! But with everything else going fast it is just a matter of time! All I can say to all RC'ers good luck! At very least they will charge us a high tax on this!

My fear is the banning of our glow engines. IAW California emissions laws , two stroke engines burning oil in the fuel being big polluters. This would suck, If I couldn't use glow engines in my buggys, I would give up the hobby before I would go electric.[:@]

RE: Stupid Laws That May Affect Our Hobby
Wow this is so stupid, kids eating parts ?!?!? c'mon what do they take us for? as for the california laws.. ya that sucks. and i agree, its people that think they are dangerous when they are perfectly safe in the right hands. ive taken my mini showtime to the park and there was a family watching and as soon as i did a blender and pulled out of it 30 feet above the ground the mom had her kids get in the car because "Watch out! it looks like it could go out of control!" [:@] even when i landed and showed her that i was perfectly in contol of the plane she still wouldnt belive me!
now i dont go flying at the park because im scared some cop is gonna show up and tell me off for doing low aerobatics or something. and im only 15 so that doesnt really help much. so now im confined to my front yard which is still pleanty big to fly most planes, but im limited to large park flyers.
even though i dont live in california i could imagine this happening anywhere. and my city is pretty relaxed about stuff so i hope nothing like this comes my way.

I'm still waiting on a reply from miamidade.gov to see what the laws are pertaining to running or flying your nitro rc. As far as the law that bans 2 strokes with no efi. Yeah it does not per tain to nitro but remember 1/5 scale does run of leaf blower size motors. It just may affect that segmant of our hobby.

Cali is nuts and they are doing anything to force conservation and cleaner air. They are or have already a rule about when you can operate a 2 stroke dirt bike due the emissions. Luckly they haven targeted our small group of nitros

CA is such a beautiful state- and loaded with kooks! Liberal kooks! I remember when 'new math' came into vogue and now kids (and adults) can't count change correctly or figure a 20% tip for a meal. If they can't punch it on a register they can't figure it out! God, it makes me weep.

At least if you have an electric they are so quiet you can hardly hear them. I can run those without worry.

The one thing we should ALL get from this though is that we need to VOTE!!! Make sure you do not remain quiet regarding these things. Really this is such a small thing regarding RC engines but the main point should be that you need to get involved and work to change things.
It can become a second career I will admit and so many times it becomes very discouraging. You can either just sit and say how you would love to go out with that hot girl sitting over there and never know or actually go and talk to her and have some kind of chance and maybe it works out!
Point being...get involved and don't just talk about it...do something!!
