Default team losi ...XX?

Not alot of info around, is this a current model, or is it XXXnow?
A friend has one, hasnt used it "4 or 5 years" and I am wondering what it is worth, and what can be done with it..IE is it obsolete etc?
I know his batteries are likely toast.
Thanks for your time
Tony

The current model is the XXX-CR. The original XXX came out in 2000. I would say the XX would be form 94-98 as losi was testing for the XXX in 99.

Thanks!
Isaw a badge on it that had '97 on it, like he raced it in an event or something. Thing is he 'guessed' it was 4-5 years old..
I probably wouldnt pay alot for it then....
Tony

EDIT: He just emailed that it IS a XXX ..Still lost on value..

Maybe I can convince him to let me take the box and screw with everything.I imagine the batteries are shot, he claims 45 mph though..

Wow, we ran it, pretty neat 2wd buggy. Kinda quick, I would be hard pressed to guess a speed though. It sure didnt last long, 10 minutes at the far most.
2000MAH pack, and its OLD.
heres some pics.

Thought I uploaded them ?

Anyway it was quick but not fast , if that makes sense...Iimagine those are NIMH's ? And I hope new packs come bigger than 2000MAH.....
WhenI settle on a truck Ihope for like a 30 minute run time, 30-40 mph.
Leaning towards an ERevo 1/10 or 1/16

That is a Losi XX-T CR. It is a good car. You can get a 5000mAh battery which will give you alot more runtime and ALOT more power. Do you have any other information on that motor? It should say the amount of turns and brand. You want to clean that out with break cleaner or motor spray and it will run faster. How much does he want to sell you the car for?

Again thanks for the time to reply.

No price, he wants me to make an offer. In that resepct I havent a clue. The motor was pretty warm after playing with it...
lemme ask you this :Would this thing on a 5000mah pack be on par with a New 1/16 Erevo on one stock NiMH.
I just want something Ican run for a decent time, and I am not sure of the XX's top speed.

I would offer him $40 and just say that this car ahs 1 major revision (the XXX-T) and 3 minor revisions (MF1, MF2, CR) so just try to explain that it isnt really worth much. The way the car is setup (springs, soldering, etc.) I can tell that it was raced so I would buy it. About the speed, it really depends on the motor. Do you know what the motor says on it and maybe the amount of turns and how dirty it is? With a decent motor and good battery it should go about 35mph, about the same as the mini e-revo. The e revo will be alot smaller though. I would buy it cheap and see if you like it. If you dont, then you can sell it and buy the 1/16 e revo. Runtimes should be about 20 minutes.

I would guess a little more run time with a 5000mah battery, wouldn't you (chris). I get a half hour or more with my 45000mah, although I am geared way low. I had an xxt a while ago, bought it for $30. It needed a few repairs, but nothing major. came with motor and servo, no radio gear

Well 20 minutes going WOT or always on the throttle most of the time. If you are just running around it is more like 30 minutes. What charger does this car come with? And any other parts in the parts box?

Its the car, body, radio , "extra" 4 year old battery, theres a charger and car charger I believe, another set of wheels/tires...
I have asked for a list ORto borrow the box while he is gone. He lives in CA, but travels back here a bit, he'll be back end of august.
He apparently owns more than one home....

Idunno if he would take$100, but I am not sure if its worth more than that. Are there still parts available??
Ihave to factor in a couple new battery packs, unsure of cost on those 5000mah's...

Ijust know I can do a 1/16 Erevo for about $340 from the LHS, 2 packs, out the door....

Hmmmmmmmmm

Just lowball him first and see what he says. Everything is probably worth about 80-130.

i wouldn't go 100 unless the charger has some value. make sure you get a picture of that.

SOIgot it to play around with it...It has some sort of circuit board discharger thing, a pair of old batteries (gives 10 minutes street tops, each) Car, transmitter. The charger is an MRC super brain 809, 2/4 amp...
Motor simply says 'Maxtec' no turns or anything...Looks like it could do 25 mph, hard to tell with cars around here.I paced one and it kept up but Ibet is was more in the high teens....

He called me Saturday and I asked him for a general price.
He wants to get

$350!

Holy crap! Ihave some kid offering me a nice 1/10 Erevo complete setup for that price, SHIPPED!!!!

oh well!
