"re thread" motor hole
I bought a used castle motor, and oc course one of the screw holes on the motor Ineed has been stripped/bent
Is there a way to fix
my other option I was thinking was to dril another hole in the motor mount plate to get to a fresh hole?
Any ideas thanks

RE:
are there more holes to use?
if you know someone with a tig you could get get them to
drop some weld in there and redrill and tapp it, or use metal
repair epoxy and drill and tapp that.

RE:
Sometimes you can get lucky and just use a slightly larger screw to do the "drilling & tapping" at the same time.
No matter what you try be careful not to get shavings into the motor can.
If the motor has more than the one bad hole then it may be safer to just drill a new hole in the mounting bracket and use a different hole on the motor.

RE:
My worry was doing something to damage the motor. Its a castle, which in my limited experience have seemed to be good motors.
The cost of me ruining, if it comes to that, a motor plate is negligble I would think to that of a good motor....
thanks again, the metal shavings have me worried</p>

RE:
thats what i use. cordless drill, watch your speed and "feel" it cutting.
if it starts to jam, go back then forward. you dont want a snapped bolt
in there too.
you could hook up a vacuum to where your drilling, might help with shavings.
