Kyosho 1:8 VE Conversion
I have had a Kyosho Inferno GT (nitro) for a couple of years, so I bought an Inferno VE for a conversion to electric. Basically, all I had to do was exchange the front and rear ends (diffs, shock towers, shocks) from my GT with those that come on the VE (buggy). They were a perfect fit because the chassis are the same between the two vehicles. Now, I have a nice 1:8 brushless onroad car and lots of spare parts, rather than a greasy nitro I was afraid to wreck for lack of parts.
The only other modification I made was to change the mod 1, 12t pinion to a mod 1, 16t pinion. Since the Orion system (which comes in the RTR VE) has 2050kv, it has good torque for low end in the turns and the gearing change gives me more top end for the straight. I was consistantly beating a Losi with a 2650kv motor all afternoon yesterday. [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
I love my Kyosho again! [8D]
