Default 33% extra from DR Hobbies

Anyone have any experience with the new 1/3 scale extra from DR Hobbies? Their 40% extra flies great, but am interested in the 33%. Jim

I have one equipped with a DA-100 with Hitec 5955TGs all the way around. I had JR 8611s, but thats another story. Anyway, if you build the plane by the book, it goes together easily, and will test fly with no trim asjustments. Mine weighs 24 lbs. 13oz. using 8 5955s, Airwild rudder tray, Airwild extentions, and Sullivan skylite 4" wheels. This plane tracks striaght. Mine only has 3% of up elevator - rudder, and thats only because I cant programm 2.5% in my radio. This plane will stand up to any abuse you can throw at it. It can handle stuff that makes the gears in the JR 8611A servos break. Full throttle blenders are not out of the question. I have 23 flights on this plane with 21 of them being flights that would break one of the H9 planes. And I wouldnt be scared to fly it like that for another 150 flights. Basically it is very comparable to the composite arf planes. In fact it is the same plane except for a few changes. First it has a wing tube instead of the flat carbon spar. WAY BETTER. Next, it has less dihedral for less elevator coupling. Finally the firewall is moved back 1 inch so you can use a 3W 106 with an offset spinner. I had a semi-build thread on here around Easter of '05. My last post in it was probably 2 or 3 months ago. Do a search for it. Here are a few pics. Oh, good luck if you do decide to get the plane. It is great.

I ordered it from RC Blimp Productions. It is balsa/ Carbon laminate. I looks kinda cheesey when you open it and look at it, but it is stiff. I used it for the rudder tray, cowl baffles and reciever and throttle servo mounts. Way better than the stock supplied stuff. The stock stuff is good, but I wanted a little extra "bling". Oh I replaced all the pushrod and pull/pull hardware with Dubro and Hangar 9 stuff because the stock stuff is metric. The stock stuff is fine, and very easy to install. I also used Airwild servo arms. If you do use the Airwild arms, you have to do some modifiying. The airwild arms have enough offset to throw the linkage out of alignment. You have to do some slight modifiying in order to use them. If you were to use any other aluminum arm that is not offset, then you wont have a problem at all.
