I just got an email from www.piperj3cubgear.com and they said that they would make a gear, if you send them the dimensions and a check. So if you guys want a scale gear, here's a source for you.

CCRC1...

Can you surf in your cruiser ? Just wondering. If you can, well, that is too cool !!

When I saw your post that you were on watch, I imagined you in the car posting away.

Thanks for the heads up.

Back when they first listed it, it was listed as clipped wing. I just went back to look, and sure enough, they are both now listed as standard.

No not yet, but I should have that in a couple of months. I have access through my district station.

Are you just assembling it for the hobby shop or can you give photos and a flight report on the plane when complete?

Well, I was going to assemble it for the LHS, but I decided to keep it. I have some work commitments over the next 2 weeks that will cut into my fun time, but as I get it together I will post pictures and comments.
As I said earlier, this airplane is almost identical in construction to the Anniversary Edition Cub Kit that Goldberg has been on the market for years. The dimensions are the same and with the exception of the few very minor differences, I see no reason why it won't fly exactly like the kit. Thats one of the reasons I decided to keep it.

CCRC1, have you had the Cub up yet? I've picked up a yellow one & hope to have it ready for this weekend. Yours should be great wih the Saito .65. I had one on a kit-built Aniversary Edition about 12 yrs ago +/-. It was a perfect match. Unfortunately, I will be committing the ultimate "cub crime" and bolting up a 2-stroke. I know...I know.

Anyways. I'd love to hear your comments on this plane, good or bad.

I came close to picking up this ARF at my LHS a few weeks ago. Wound up going with the Phoenix Super Decathlon instead. The Cub sure looks nice!

WG, this Cub is replacing a Phoenix Decathlon. The Dec is a nice bird, but be ready to use A LOT of lead for balance.

The day I totaled the Decathlon, my (wonderful) fiance' bought me the Cub. We went to the LHS and looked around for awhile, I kept coming back to the Cub but just couldn't pull the $200 trigger. She pulled out her check book & said "I'll buy it for you". Blew me away.

I hope to have it ready for this weekend.
