First competiton with FC 2.6 330L
Hello all,
Dave is right about the "imperfections". I challenge any of you not to do more damage in the first few months due to hanger rash - that is how small they are. Mine has a small bleed through under the stab in the yellow, I keep trying to clean it off with windex LOL, other then that it's fine.
I used the stock Phenolic arms, they were also fine - except I used heavy duty Du-Bro clevises with the locking clips. They fit the stock hole perfectly in the arms.
One place I deviated from was the rudder horn, I'm using a 4" Nelson set up for ball links. I am using the stock mufflers on the DA, no cans here.

The servo arms are part of the kit and you mount them using the servo wheel provided with your servos. Similar to nelsons accept only one side.
The clevises that we used are by DuBro and work very well and they offer them in a bag of 12. the exact amount you need for this kit.
I didnt use them on the rudder because I didnt like the idea of plastic clevises on the rudder with a large load on them. Not the clevis itself but it threading into the rod. I used the steel ones for the rudder.

I finally have most of mine done. I left the servos in the wings till last. Thats all I have to do now.
I used all the stock horns and servo arms with H9 ti links and Dubro links. I have Kavan for wheels and Graphtec for the tail wheel.
DA100 stock mufflers 5945's all around.
Hope to fly in Phoenix

Sounds like you are going to have a very nice ride!
I want to know what you think of the 5945s when you get it going.
I am using 8411s but I am not happy with the slop.
I changed the wing servos to futaba 9304s and they are very solid.
Even though the word HiTech was taboo in the giant scale world only afew years ago I am noticing a marked quality upgrade in there product. Alot of guys are trusting there 35-40% planes with them and from what I hear with good results. I am intrested in them for my elevators. let me know how you like them

I have around 30 5945 servos in operation at this time. I bench test every servo for around 30 minutes on the bench. All the other 5945 have been flawless in operation.
I have around 50 flights on a Texas Hurricane that has seen nothing but violent 3d type stuff and some sequence flying. I can not feel any more slop in these compared to the new ones I just installed in the FC.

I have switched to all Hitec 5945 on my large planes, and so have some buddies of mine. We bought the programmer and so far everyone is very happy with the servos. My H9 CAP has over 40 flights and not even a hint of slop. And at $75 a pop, you can't not afford the programmer. That's $25 per servo cheaper than the 8411 and you don't need all those $60 matchboxes.
