FWIW I FINALLY found the DF03 dark impact body which is to be used as a dirt cover/shield etc..

Thanks! Build is complete.
It's bone stock with a slipper, that's it... Got a ezrun 9T motor/esc on the way along with a set of Ti screws. I ran a 2s2P 2200mah Lifepo, some 20C 1500mah 2s lipos and... Yes, I defiantly ran a 11.1v 25C 2200mah lipo on the TEU-101BK with no problems to report.
Disclaimer; it's COLD here... Sure I wrap the chassis so it doesn't get all wet in there but it's well below freezing outside. Also; I made a resistor driven light set that is designed to run on 6V, and just as I connected the pack to my stock esc, two of my painstakingly installed LED's emitted a popping sound and failed (perhaps things would have been different had the esc been off at the time, not willing to find out)
Drove the heck out of that pack on snowy/icy surfaces, in cold weather and getting stuck frequently (meaning many short pauses) I have some data log graphs of the 2S and 3S lipos if you are curious to see I could export pics and upload them.
I treated the ESC with corrosion block and ran a couple of packs that way; esc fully covered in melting snow and running tap water directly onto it while operating so far has also not caused any issues. (yet..)
Planning on putting this in the rx and brushless esc as a second line of defense.

Im really interested in getting one of these but I love the suzuki sx4 body with for the tt01e. according to what Ive read you can shorten the wheel base on the df03ra to the same as the tt01e. does anybody know if I would have any issues trying to mount th sx4 body for the tt01e on the df03ra ?

There are two sets of rear arms, one to shorten the wheelbase, but I don't see them taking more than 4-5mm off the total length.
Personal observation; the swing shafts are already swept forward a few degrees which seems wierd to me; in a perfect world the dog bones would line up straight with the diff outdrives; the more pronounced the angle, the less efficient it becomes angling it farther forward will make the drivetrain that much more awkward looking, which might be all there is to it, I couldn't tell you by how much if any this would affect performance.
My manual said to use the long wheelbase arms, so I did. All I can tell you is that in this configuration the distance between the front and rear wheel nuts is 258MM measured at the center of the nut and it's 180mm wide wheel to wheel (measured outside sidewall to outside sidewall)
The highest points on the chassis (spur gear cover and front shock tower) sit 20mm higher than the top of the tire measured with suspension fully extended.

I believe using the ones on the bumper are much better because in a roll over crash the force exerted on the mount posts is not transferred to the fragile suspension mounts. holy crap the TEU-101BK can handle 2S Lipo?!
Maybe I should upgrade the motor now...I have the stock silver can...any suggestions on motor? I should probably get an external LVC too right I don't think the TEU-101BK has one.

I actually fed my teu-101BK 11.1v (3S lipos) and it doesn't seem to be phazed by it at all... It does NOT have a lipo LVC but I ran it with a data logger to keep tabs. I stopped when I felt the first dip in power and it never went below 3v/cell
when I gave it the 11.1v, it fried my LED set which was connected to the RX; this means the BEC of the TEU-101bk sent it a huge spike of voltage; user beware! This is not recommended... 2s lipos are definitely safe no problem there. An LVC or LVA is desirable but not necessary if you "listen" to your ride and stop driving as soon as you feel a dip in power.
Rather than spending ANY money on something brushed I would suggest saving up and upgrading to brushless once and for all; better throttle response, less drag braking (*unless you WANT to program some in) longer run times, more power, more speed... win win win!

Well all my LEDs are already a PITA...I have so many things going wrong with them right now I just took the body and dropped it off to my LHS to figure it all out since I am running 2 sets of Ram LEDs and soldered 2 additional 5mm leds to two of the wires on each set so that I can have 6 red LEDlights on the rear...I guess the circuit board could not handle that much.

Ram LED light sets come with a pair of 5mm front and a pair of 5mm rear hooked together to a circuit board.
Next time I am just going to do it myself RAMLED light sets are just a PITA!!!

I bet MD6 was going to post the Tamiya light connector thing which I have on my TT-01E where you can plug in up to 12-14 lights I think...and then I would probably balloon it.
Lesson learned: You get what you pay for and patience is a virtue!
My LHS only carries RAM LED light sets...i guess I will just have to order online next time...or go Radioshack haha

Seems like posting links taken from tamiya usa does not work... I am not surprised, it's one of the most poorly designed websites I have ever seen. If that were their only sales/distribution channel they would have been out of business a long time ago.

Took the DF03 RA for an ice drifting session last night. My studded tires are hooking up like crazy on ice and packed now, really fun!
Defiantly, I ran the stock power system on 3 cells again (2200mah 25C 11.1v zippy slim pack) no issues to report, put 1900mah back into the pack, stopped when I felt a dip in power and again resting voltages were very normal.
Can't wait to get my brushless power system to see what this baby can really do!

Yes i read it, the wheelbase on the saxo is 137mm and 190mm wide, do you think it would look stupid with it been 10-15mm out? might look ok?

Yup, stock to the bone; I could care less about the included motor and ESC thus my "balls of steel" when it comes to running it beyond it's specs.
If you care about yours, running it like I do mine is probably not the best for longevity.

aflipz....with the lineup of rigs and cars I have I don't really care if something breaks I always have a back up.

I think it's a fairly popular disease afflicting RC people... Up until a few months ago I had no less than 9 airplanes fully decked out and ready for action, 3 rc cars 2 helicopters, 1 boat etc...
I managed to trim that down to 3 planes, 2 cars and one heli. (still borderlines obsessive compulsive disorder)
