The Bipe swings a 17 X 8 prop with authority....you have to be on the Rudder on take-off...It flys at Scale speed at slightly above half throttle...punch it and it goes vertical.
I plan to put a DLE-20 into the Great Planes Super Stearman also...like the quad-ailerons... NOTE: Wingspan :71.5" Both the PT-17 & Super Stearman..

Just received my DLE-20 and will be installing it in a CMP 120 Zero under construction. I am presently flying this same airframe with a Saito 125 at 17 lbs...very nice performance, so the DLE-20 should be just a tad better in Zero #2.

My DLE20 is currently doing the job in a Great Planes Hawk P-6E. Very nice match. The ARF has been re-introduced by Great Plane for late Jan delivery. At a 'mere' $479.00 !!!

I'm, going to put a DLE 20 on my BTE Delta Vortex with a 15x8 Graupner 3 bladed. Should be great combination. I had a .90 glo on this one before I lost it so I'll build another for the DLE.

I have a Seagull Yak 54 63in<div>Graftech Gear, Cockpit stripped and a few other things to lighten it.</div><div>Came in around 8lbs </div><div>I have run 3 props so far.</div><div>JFX 16x8 9000rpm</div><div>Vess 17x6 broke it before i could check rpm new one on order.</div><div>zigler 18x5 will check rpm today.</div><div>

Man u must have a weak ys140. I like this engine, but there is no way it can hang with my ys140. Now, the dle 30....that's a different story...

No joke....and more surprising is that the 125 flies it very well...not a pig in any way. Nice large loops from level and best of all, it floats...and floats...and floats. My Zero#2 with the DLE-20 will have flaps just to help it bleed speed quicker.
Silly, he's running 40% nitro and uses a 150' take-off.....downhill!

The DLE20 does have a bit more ump, but I believe you'll do far better with a DLE30, rather than the DLE20 considering the weight of that plane.
The DLE20cc would fly it, but have little reserve power.

Thanks for the replies guys. That was my feeling also. Had second thoughts because I hear guys are flying GP Stearmans & a P-6E with the DLE 20. I have already started installing the DLE 30 in the plane. It is a little bit of a tight fit with the stock muffler, I don't want to cut the cowl and ruin the lines. That was my reason for not using the CRRC 26. As you know the Ryan cowling has a very thin profile and the DLE 20 fit inside with lots of clearance all around. I would rather have extra power, than be on the edge of a stall,or having to fly full throttle all the time.

I chose not to install the DLE 20, went with the DLE 30 instead. As far as I could tell the DLE 20 was a very easy install. There was plenty of room for the engine & muffler. My biggest concern was the available power with the 20, I didn't want to be under powered, you can always throttle back with the 30. My gut feeling is it will probably fly ok with the 20, pretty much depends on what type of flying you do. From the threads it looks like the plane needs tail weight with the larger gassers, so the 20 might not need as much or none at all. Good luck on your build.

I flew the Stick today and it was cold, like 30F. It runs great, but it was so cold it actually ran for about 20 seconds on full choke! It had to warm up for at least a minute, and honestly, I considered blocking off some of the fins with a piece of duct tape. The engine power and lift is great in the cold weather though, lots of fun. Maybe when it is installed in the 3DHS Velox the cowling will let it run a little warmer. Any of our Swedish or Canadian friends have any cold weather gasser tips?

I just started my build on a Great Planes PT-17 and I plan on using a DLE-20 in it that should be here today. I have everthing I need on hand already for the build I'll post pic's as the build processes Here is a pic of the PT-a7 I plan to build that belongs to a friecd of mine. Here has a Saito 125 in it for power and it flies great.
