Hope to have some info and maybe some video of the EDF Stinger today subject to the weather holding long enough for Ali to test fly this morning.
Here is the 95% completed EDF chassis, a few vinyl adjustments which will be done during the week and its hopefully ready for Jetpower....

Good luck for JetPower mate. I suspect all the hard work will pay off. If you see a top deal on a P160SX while you are there gimme a call.

Henke,
Its on my site, details and pricing are there too along with a couple of videos of the P20 and EDF versions flying at Jetpower.
We are starting to manufacture as we speak and weight of airframe is just over 1000g. The first customer airframe should be out over the weekend so will re-weight to check if you like.

The 'Glove'....
Now that we are shipping the Stinger kits abroad we had to sort out packaging and boxes etc, so using the CAD outline for the parting boards we made whilst doing the moulds it seemed like a neat idea to encase the fuselage in a foam frame, that way the whole fuselage is supported around its entire perimeter and should (not tested in transit yet!) help keep things undamaged.
The foam is 100mm thick and will sit in the middle of the box with foam blocks at 90 degrees to this panel extending to the box sides to keep everything in place. The notch cut in the top of the foam is for another box which is packed with wings, stabs and all the other parts needed to complete the kit.
I will wrap the fuselage in cling film to protect the paint finish and is thin enough not to bulk out the size and hence fit.
I got excited when it went together so had to post it as its not a way I have seen jet kits shipped, so was kinda pleased with the potential result. Naturally the client who's jet this is will I am sure let me know if it arrives safe!
Sorry its not strictly 'jet' related.....

Couple of shots of recent Stinger v2's all with 'Grafix' decals applied to customer orders............ All opted for the 'pulse' scheme, others schemes have been ordered but these have been applied by the customer so I have not as yet seen the results

Jason,
Hi, not sure where the info came from but we have been in production for a while.
We are however only producing a limited run of the Stinger v2, and currently we have one or two units left to allocate for end of May delivery.
Rob, indeed, a few are planning this turbine combo, and if we can we will fit one as soon as we can - be nice to have it flying for Jetpower - it will be very, very quick

UPDATE ON RETRACTS
I wanted to post an update on the Stinger v2 electric landing gear delay, so that any customers who I have not emailed and own an Sv2 will be up to speed.
The gear for the Stinger v2 was designed and manufactured specifically for this jet, designed by Rich Chant. The gear was originally pneumatic but with a small jet we felt it would be good to remove the air systems and replace them with a neat, light electric version.
The electronic controller is designed made and tested, the prototype gear on my two Sv2 flown at Jetpower also worked fine, unfortunately when the motor/gearbox units were ordered the manufacturer changed the gearbox design/spec without informing us, the changes made the unit unreliable and unsuitable.
Following this we have been working with manufacturers to source a new motor/gearbox unit with a better and more precise gearbox capable of driving our retract system properly.
Due to the size this was not a simple task but we now have new sample motor/gearbox units which are being assembled as we speak and will be tested at Classic Jets on the 6th April.
If the new motor/gearbox's work out reliable then we will order the new units and when with us assemble and ship to our customers in the order they placed the original Sv2 booking.
I appologise for the delay, its far from ideal, but when you do push the envelope a little things can take longer than you had hoped they would.
To all our customers we are working hard to fix the retracts and we will keep you posted via this thread on the progress.
Regards

RE: Stinger v2 - quick bulid thread/manual
Attached for reference is a picture showing far right the original motor/gearbox which has a silver gearbox cover, the same motor/gearbox units ordered but with a brass coloured gearbox cover is in the middle and this is the unit which is not giving us the reliability, and finally the latest unit on the left.
As you can see the new unit is longer, the motor is a better spec but more importantly the gearbox uses a planetary gear system which is much more robust than the original spur gearboxes, a small weight penalty but we felt an important one to swallow for better results.
