So may be my Albatross a original production. I bought mine 12 years
ago from G&P sales. When I received the kit I was disappointed that
the fuselage was made so thick that overall weight of the plane seemed
very heavy.
Although I bought 2 of ENYA 53 four stroke and the retract for HU-16
at that time, I have not started the project yet.
Yes, the engine nacelle is not from fiberglass but ABS.
I am worrying about this amphibian if it will fly without problem.

RE: Grumman Albatross Hu-16B
The retract for HU-16 from G&P sales is seemed a modified Spring
Air pneumatic, added some linkage rods for HU's way of retract.
It did not look to be capable of holding that heavy plane firmly and
of course the weight would increase with the retract, I didn't think
of adding the retract from the beginning.
I might have started to build if it had had a bit lighter fuselage.
It seems it would need some lead in the nose also, all heavy.
I didn't know G&P have the lighter fuselage now, so I may call them
if I can get the newer fuselage and nacelles. Thanks info.

Thank you for your information of the lead on your HU-16.
I now understand the lead on the nose will be a must item
for this model.

RE: Grumman Albatross Hu-16B
HI Guys, well I am here to report a little progress on my two Albatross first the County filled my clubs lake and with all the rain we have had in the last couple of months the its probably overflowing its pouring now it started Thursday and has not stopped yet. So I have to break out the sea planes and start building. I am cleaning and organizing my shop so that I can start building I have a couple of glow water planes that are ARF's which will get me in the lake fast. I have yet to open my electric HVT Albatross as I need to get it down from the garage rafters, I wanted to know if the plane comes out of the box painted like the pic below.
Thanks Viper
