Lipo chargeing questions

Default Lipo chargeing questions

I orderd the Turnigy Max200W charger a few months ago, I got my first Lipo battery this weekend, i got 2 of the 3S 1500mah 11.1V, my question is, and please bear with me couse im new to electric flight and dont understand how all the componets fit together. So when i put my battery on the charger I know to select the 11.1V, and the ?.?A I dont know what amps to set the battery to? How do I figure the chargeing amps? I dont want to fry my battery, but most important I dont want to burn my house down. Please help me out here. thanks everyone.

The general recommendation is to charge at 1C rate, 1x the capacity of the pack.
So your pack which is a 1500ma, would be charged at 1.5 amps.

Also do not leave the pack unattended, and preferably charge it in a fire proof container or surface, away from anything flammable.

OK thank you. How are those chargeing bags? are they worth the money? or is there a better way to go? What about placeing them in like a ceramic jar while they charge?
