9303 and lipo's
ok, need some technical advise. I have a 9303 with a battery that needs replacing soon. I now have a 2700 nimh and she is tired. In todays world Lipo's are the way to go. As I am slowly switching all my jets to Life brand Lithium iron batteries..
Question is, can I use lipos in my 9303 and how do I charge them?
Duralite has a Lithiuim-ion 1400 mAh 6 cell 11.1 volt dedicated for the 9303. BUT the JR manual says the 11.1v will over heat the transmitter and can or might cause failure.
So? I would like to go to Lipo's, is there another brand or size that would work? What are my options?

RE: 9303 and lipo's
I had a lipo in my 9303 and loved it! I would take the battery out when I needed to charge it.....which was like once every 8 or 9 months (seriously). I charged it with a normal lipo charger.
On the other hand, I use an Eneloop pack in my 11x since Horizon says no way to a lipo in the 11x.... Actually it's the initial voltage of the pack when fully charged that the radio can't handle. I found that out the hard way when I tried to put the lipo from my battle tested 9303 into my 11x when I got it.

I prefer LiPo Tx batteries because they can be charged quickly and the charge lasts for months. I charge once a month, for less than 30 minutes, with my FMA 10S charger.

Just opened up to look at it... I'm running a Flightmax 2500 3S pack from Hobby King. 03C series.
It's been over a year since I've used this radio and the voltage is still at 12.3v It's since become my sailboat radio

Mark, go with the Eneloop pack in your tranny, been running it in my 12x for about a year now and a single charge lasts 15+ hours of ON time and they have a 1000 cycle life, and being they are NiMh, they work perfectly with the TX.
Chad has a huge thread about them in the jet forum, give it a look see, most of the jet guys are running them.
